We are in 3rd place right now. Only the top four teams get to the Summit tourney. Third through sixth are somewhat close together.

We gotta win some!

Conference Overall
WIU 16-02 .889 30-15 .667
IPFW 15-06 .714 26-17 .605
NDSU 11-07 .611 27-22 .551
SDSU 10-08 .556 18-29 .383
UMKC 09-08 .529 19-24 .442
IUPUI 09-12 .429 14-36 .280
Oak 07-11 .389 15-32 .319
SUU 06-15 .286 10-36 .217
Cent 03-17 .150 09-32 .220

I think WIU has clinched a tourney berth(maybe IPFW as well), but I'm not 100% sure. The Bison have 5 games remaining as long as the weather cooperates(UMKC x2; SDSU x3). WIU plays SUU twice more, and IPFW is done for the year(according to the Summit website). SDSU only has our three games left, UMKC also has two games left with Oakland, and IUPUI has a three game stand with Centenary to finish the season. NDSU is in control of their destiny, but they can't afford to lose many games versus the number 4 and 5 teams or else they could end up on the outside looking in.

Definitely, it might be a photo finish to see who locks up those 3rd and 4th berths. Thanks Hammer.

Looks like the Bison can clinch a spot with a sweep today.

Like the following

NDSU 8 UMKC 0 game 1
NDSU 10 UMKC 3 game 2

I would call that a sweep.

I believe that clinches it for NDSU. Assuming the Summit doesn't use a point system for ranking like they do for soccer, here are the remaining tourney possibilities:

1. WIU (clinched regular season title)
2. IPFW (clinched 2-seed)
3. NDSU (clinched tourney berth)
4. SDSU
5. UMKC
6. IUPUI

Our games with SDSU will probably determine who the final team is.

NDSU should take care of business and just knock the bunnies out.

Whew! Deep breath.

Now we have to see how the rest of the season plays out to determine the fourth team to get into the Summit tournament.

1. WIU (clinched regular season title)
2. IPFW (clinched 2-seed)
3. NDSU (clinched tourney berth)
4. SDSU
5. UMKC
6. IUPUI

Western Illinois plays two non-conference games on Wednesday and will finish up conference play against SUU.

IPFW is off next week.

The Bison play the South Dakota State Jackrabbits and of course the Jacks have no choice but to get some wins. It would be nice to have the Jacks in Fargo for the tournament to boost attendance...but not at our expense.

UMKC has Oakland next week. Based on current records I'm guessing the the Roos have great opportunity at a sweep. They will need our help against the Jacks.

The summit will not get any teams into the big dance as an at large team. Now is the time to get hot!

We can do it. We're getting hot at the right time. I don't think we make the Sweet 16 again this year, but we can and might make the tourney again.
