I flew with the mens team on friday to arizona, then they were going up to Utah I believe, and I see her BROTHER is only 4 shots off the lead after 2 rounds!!

how cool would it be to have both anderson's in regionals.

p.s- talked to coach matt johnson. AMY could finish top 5-10 in the NCAA's, she's THAT good. plus he experience in the US Amatuer and Pine to Palm vs the men should really help./

I thought that was crazy last year at the Pine to Palm Amy got second place to one of my friends from back in the high school days, Tom Hoge out of TCU, and he finished third place in the 2009 NCAA National Championships. Amy is more than LEGIT! Best of luck to her!

Amy has parred her first four holes today. ORU is at the same regional and is tied for 21st place out of 24 teams. BTW, Amy didn't triple bogey yesterday. She had two double bogeys, five bogeys, eight pars, and three birdies. If she can keep parring today, she'll probably make up some ground. Only two golfers finished better than par yesterday.

edit: And her card was updated just after I posted that. She bogeyed hole 5(one of her double bogeys from yesterday) and parred hole 6 for a 1-over so far today. She's -3 versus the same holes as yesterday.

And the Leaderboard climb begins. After Round 1 62nd place, now tied for 31st after 4 holes in round 2. Lots of people blowing up (not the good blowing up) in round 2.

Keep err Steady Amy, round 2 scores are up, the wind must be blowing.

Girl knows how to grind. She is patient and accurate. She is as good as anyone in this tourney. I am following golfstat.

Wish the Forum realized how big it is for her to be playing in this tourney.

Pars on 7, 8 & 9 keep Amy at +1 for the day, +7 for the tourney, and tied for 35th place overall. It's way too early to really talk about it, but Amy is 4 strokes back from advancing to nationals. She also shot 4 stokes better on the front nine compared to yesterday. And I want to be the team host for Cal's squad. Holy crap.

Amy birdied hole 11(she bogeyed it yesterday) to move back to even par through 13 holes for the day and +6 overall. That puts her in a tie for 26th place, and 3 strokes back from a shot at nationals.

I am so bored tonight.

70% of the front of the sports page dedicated to the who. You think SOMEONE could have nutted up and written an article. Super, super weak.

Amy finishes the day 2 over par; +8 and tied for 28th after two days. She will need to make up 5 strokes tomorrow to advance to nationals.

Amy hit 3 birdies on the back 9, but 2 bogies and a double more than cancelled them out. Holes 5 & 13 aren't very good for her, while she's birdied 16 both times she's played it.

Amy tees off tomorrow morning around 11am on the back 9.

Amy continues to be at par today after 11 holes. Unfortunately, LSU has dropped out of the top 8 teams, so the best two players overall(both even par for the tourney) are not on top-8 teams. Still, with the exception of one 9-hole round(+5), Amy has been fantastic.

edit: +1 after 12 holes; +9 for the tourney; T29

Is Kolpack on vacation or something? He hasn't posted a story in about a week.

It looks like Amy will finish T18 or T17.

Here are the top golfers not part of the top 8 teams:

+5 Megan McChrystal
+6 Ellen Mueller
+8 Laurence Herman
+8 Teresa Puga
+9 Amy Anderson
+9 Teo Poplawski
+9 Chelsea Stelzmiller

Since the top two from that list go to nationals, Amy was only three strokes back. If not for the bad front nine on day one, she would have been right in the mix. Congrats Amy, and good luck this summer.

It was announced today that she was named an honorable mentioned All-American. What a year she had. You have to meet her to realize what an awsome person she is. Gongrats, Amy. Well done.

Amy was honored again by being named The Summit's Women's Golfer of the Year.

I don't follow HS golf, but it seems like NDSU is starting to put together some backup for Amy. Jackie Johnson of Faribault, MN signed with the Bison this week. Jackie was a four-event winner on the 2009 Minnesota PGA Junior Tour. Maybe we'll start to contend with ORU in a year or three.
