Looks like Greg McDermott is accepting a 10 year $9 million at Creighton, interesting, wonder if this will turn out true.

Huh?

That seems an awful high salary considering his records (sub .500 conference record at the D-1 level, 149-131 overall)---even if you allow for his 3 year run of NCAA tournament appearances.

IMO, he's not worth what Iowa State is paying him.

Creighton has a pretty good athletic budget and successful program hence the salary

I understand they've got the money, but the question is, why spend it on him? Because of what he did over the course of 3 years at UNI when (among other things) the Valley was a multi-bid conference thanks to the way the NCAA weighted RPI?

Well in my eyes a coach is worth whatever a program is willing to pay him

But it's sad times indeed if that's the best coach you can get for that kind of money over that many years. (please pardon the number of expletives in the preceding sentence)

Indeed, what sad times are these when passersby can say Ni at will to old ladies.

There is a pestilence upon this land, nothing is sacred. Even those who arrange and design shrubberies are under considerable economic stress in this period in history.
