you'll see come baseball season

its been a disappointing year for Bison Athletics...
Baseball-Losing to Mayville St.

You guys better not Gloat too much.
We still have to Mayberry in Baseball this spring. I got a good feeling the Comets will pull at least one out, probably two.

The Mayberry boys have hyped this game like it was the world series. We better not lose to those hillbillies.

THE SERIES: Tuesday will be the 58th meeting between North Dakota State and Mayville State in a series dating back to 1947. NDSU has won four in a row and five of the last six, but Mayville State leads the series 32-25. This is the Comets’ first trip to Newman Outdoor Field. The teams haven’t played since exactly sixteen years ago April 20, 1994, when the Bison swept a doubleheader 8-3 and 5-3 at Jack Williams Stadium in Fargo.

Looks like an upset if the Bison Win. :)

should be a good day to watch baseball for april

Ugg. The Bison haven't led yet today. Currently 3-2 Mayville State in the bottom of the 6th.

And as I was writing that, the Bison tied the game at 3. Runner on first with 1 out.

And the Bison take their first lead 4-3.

And tacked on another one for good measure before ending the inning; 5-3 Bison.

Bottom of 8th. Runner on 2nd. 1 out.

Thats because back in the day the only way Berry would schedule the game was if he had his starting pitching staff available after throttling a bottom dweller in the DAC with his lower staff. Meanwhile NDSU would throw their #5,6 starters saving their #1-4 for conference games. When McLeod took over they had a deeper pitching staff and didnt lose anymore. Berry then quit playing them. The winning percentage would be reversed had they still played through those 16 years.

Its no excuse its fact. The previous 2 seasons in 1991 and 1992 NDSU was 1-7 against Mayville. McLeod took over in 1993. They promptly won 5 of 6 against Mayville in 1993 and 1994 and the series went away for the exact reason I stated.
