IMO, if Sue isn't taken #1 there is going to be a lot of pissed fan's in 5-10 year. He really looks like a potential HF type player. If the tackle from Oklahoma is taken before him a personal VP should be canned. All this talk about choosing between the two DT's doesn't make any sense to me.

While I agree with you between the two DT's, their strengths differ depending on the defense they play. If your DT is playing a strict 3 technique (outside shoulder of the guard), then McCoy is the better pick, a la Tampa. If your DT is going to roam between a 3 and a 1, then Sue is the better pick. That is one huge difference between the two of them. My pick is still taking Sue and then changing the defense if need be.

I thought this too. When the draft board showed up on the crawl under Mike & Mike Monday morning on the duce I figured it had to be that Thursday.

I thought to myself. "Self. Surely they wouldn't run Mel Keyper's Big Board on the crawl on ESPN NEWS and ESPN 2 around the clock for 10 consecutive days leading up to the draft. The NBA season is ending, the NHL playoffs have started, its the second week of MLB and Boston is experiencing a crisis of Papian proportions. Surely. there are more interesting things to put on sports yack TV for the next 10 days. Tax day is coming up. Maybe OTL will do a special on the tax troubles of down and out former players."

Seriously, how did this get to be such a big TV event? The combine is more interesting, and all it has to recommend it are Rich Eisen's 40 and the weight room guy.

Depends on whats available at that time I think. If Kyle Wilson is still there, I think we will grab him, otherwise I think we can get a starting caliber CB in the 2nd round. Another interesting thing to watch will be a LB. Greenway and Leber I believe are both due contracts and EJ is questionable for the start of the season. Granted, I think Brinkley will be the future at MLB. Either way, we won't be taking a backer at #30, but never know later in the draft.

we have 3 picks tomorrow.

#2 overall, our original 2nd, and our 3rd.

we didnt pick up a 4th. we swapped 4ths, so instead of picking 128(late 4th round), we pick #100(early 4th round).

and add a 7th. i can suffer another day of speculation.

I don't know about that, Gerhart and Young will be competing for Chester's old job, Gerhart didn't really do much recieving out of the backfield, which was a huge part of Chester's role, and is something that Roehl, along with Young, proved that they could do in college. Overall, I don't think this has much effect on Roehl and him possibly being a Viking.

I was really happy that the Packers were able to get their guy in the first. I really thought he might go before our pick. The second round pick makes no sense, so I'm hoping the guys upstairs know more than me (as a casual fan) and the various media sources I'm reading. Third round was solid again. The Pack has a good history of buliding through the draft rather than free agency. I hope that continues.

Negatory, CB and RB respectively. They traded their 3rd round pick along with pick 62 for Gerhart, so it's looking like they aren't drafting a high-profile QB. I don't know of any other big QBs coming up, but next year is another pretty decent year for the QB position. Fear not, Favre will be back. :)
