Sioux fans took great delight in saying that last year after our loss in the NCAA BB Tournament. Now all the Sioux fans can focus on their spring sports. (man they suck) Well here's to you.

Sioux fans made a big deal about Minnesota getting beat by Holy Cross a couple of years ago. Very similar as to what happened last night. Been the same all 6 of Haaxtol's years. Shitty in the early season, awsome down the stretch and piss it down their legs in the tournament.

Not quite. Yale was ranked at least part of the year.

With the number of schools that have hockey so small, I thought all schools were ranked?

Well if i'm right on the number of schools the Top 25 represent 43% of participating teams in DI hockey

Their next game could be as the Flickertails, they can look back with fond memories of their last game as the Fighting Whioux.

You are correct, sir. There are currently 58 D-I hockey teams (or for those of you scoring at home, that is one more team than the number of D-I lacrosse teams). I believe that this may redefine the word "niche".

Ah, they'll be back strong next year.

The only good thing about this dea: If another UND guy gets snarky about NDSU scheduling Valpo way back when I can remind them that Yale has a non-scholarship hockey program.

260 for lacrosse, 136 for teh hockies (from NCAA, 2009 I beleive). Lacrosse is HUGE compared to hockey! They actually make D3 schools play in the D3 class the way it looks. Novel concept. Don't you DARE try to convince fans of D1 'powerhouses' Fairfield, Hobart or Binghamton that lacrosse isn't the most important sport ever invented :)
