Sure would be nice to get a home match against one of those teams. Can you imagine? They'd have to repair the roof afterwards on the BBF.

With the times scheduled, obviously these matches are shorter than normal.

Two very good players! It will be a tall order to replace them.

Spring volleyball is nice practice but results shouldn't be taken too serious.

Here is a thread from Volleytalk on the ISU event although not much NDSU talk http://volleytalk.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=general&action=display&thread=31847

As far as I know everyone was there. Those are all quality programs, and the kinds of programs that would probably choose other more prolific recruits than the ones NDSU has. NDSU has very good players on their team, but so do all those other programs.

NDSU still had at least two that didn't choose the other programs instead :D

Would have been nice to whoop the Panthers, played em tough though and thats what counts... Hinterstocker will now know what we need to compete at this high level.

NDSU VB says game times at U of M have changed.
U of M website has the original times still shown.
If you're going, you need to be aware of the change.
It looks like NDSU starts earlier and finishes earlier.
gobison still has the original times listed, too.
I've emailed the U of M for some confirmation.

there was an article in the Star Tribune today about the Minnesota/Texas final four rematch at 7 tonight but it didn't say anything about changing times.

this is what gophersports says.

The Minnesota volleyball team will host a spring tournament at the Sports Pavilion on Saturday, Apr. 10 that will feature Marquette, North Dakota State and 2009 National Runner-up Texas.

Action will get started at 9 a.m. when the Golden Gophers face Marquette in a three-set match. Texas will face North Dakota State at 10:15 a.m. in a three-set match. Marquette will face Texas at 11:30 a.m. in a three-set match, followed by Minnesota facing North Dakota State at 1 p.m. in a three-set match. The Golden Eagles and Bison will wrap up the early action at with a three-set match at 2:30 p.m.

The Golden Gophers' rematch with Texas from the Final Four will take place at 7 p.m. Gophersports.com will run a live blog during the Minnesota-Texas match.

Also, the gopher Football team has a scrimmage and clinic across the street starting at 2 so parking may be a pain.

There was a writeup in the Star Trib today about how Minnesota was fired up to play Texas and the Gophers won 3-1. The second to last paragraph in the article said the Gophers lost 2-1 to both Marquette and North Dakota State.

MN sat there starters for 80% of the Marquette and NDSU matches and so did Texas in there early matches, pretty obvious both teams only really cared about the match at night and getting there second unit some valuable experience against NCAA caliber teams. Thats pretty much what spring ball is about. Also sounds like NDSU has a pretty good chance of being invited back to MN for a regular season tournament which would be huge for there RPI as usually MN brings in at least one other top 10-15 program which would give the Bison potentially two top 20 matches which would help avoid what occured this year.

Only if we win one of them...

A few tidbits from Minneapolis.
I was told the game-times were changed because NDSU &
Marquette bused into town. They finished sooner so they
could head home on Saturday.
Bison played 3 against Texas & MN, but only 2 vs Marquette.
The crowd was Small, and when the Gophers were done each time,
most of the people left. I didn't stay for the 7PM match, so I don't
know how many people they had for the *marquee match*.
Very casual attire by the coaching staffs, etc.
No announcer, mic standing on the table, nobody near it.
Line judges were players from teams not playing at the moment.
Original $5 admission was changed to Free.
There were a few food vendors open, mostly good stuff.
My pick was the ice cream!
