Texas & TAMU to the Pac-10

Got a friend whose colleague is part of the PAC-10 structure.

He said (this is all unsubstantiated) that the Conference was looking to Austin and College Station for expansion.

I imagine that the Big 12 would try to take New Mexico and Utah before the three you named.

That being said, if the MWC was able to move quickly and take the better teams in the WAC, they would be on nearly equal footing as the Big 12.

In addition to the geography and tradition reasons, Texas and A&M should stay in the Big 12 --- the media contract is far superior to the Pac-10. No one sees the Pac-10 games, unless you turn to regional sports networks and stay up late to watch them.

Colorado St. for a nice fit in with Colorado already, BYU to go along with Utah (I didn't mean St. just typed too fast) thats not too bad of a group really. CSU would be the weakest but being in the same conference as in-state rival would help

I heard from a credible source that Utah will be one of the 2 schools going to the Pac-10. Haven't heard who #2 will be --- San Diego State, UNLV, BYU, Boise St?? San Diego St and UNLV --> great markets

Obviously this will set up a chain reaction affecting the western FBS and FCS conferences. I say FCS because of the possibility of Montana leaving for the WAC.

I was under the impression that this has already happened (twice) and montana declined. But i dont have any research to prove it just something i think i maybe remeber.
