FARGO, N.D. – North Dakota State head women’s track and field coach Ryun Godfrey has announced the signing of Maddie McClellan to a National Letter of Intent.
An honor roll student, McClellan hails from Perham, Minn. and attends Perham High School. She won the Minnesota state Class A cross country title in the fall and was the state runner-up in 2008. She also claimed the 2009 state title in the 3,200 meters.
“We are excited to announce Maddie McClellan as an addition to our 2010 recruiting class,” said Godfrey. “She will be a difference maker for the Bison.”
McClellan joins six other student-athletes as part of the 2010 class. Heidi Peterson, Jamie Drevlow, Abby Goraczkowski, Emily Lesser, Kiley Severson and Katie Dockter all signed letters of intent earlier this year.

This is a great pickup! Maddie's times are comparable to our own Lauren Rice who took 3rd place in the 3000 in the the Summit League Championships this winter. She DQ'd in the 1600 last year, but has a PR of 5:12. She has been a standout since 8th grade, but her times have steadily improved. Since she is from Perham she has been coached well. She should contribute right away.

Great job Ryun!
