Hopefully, they'll be in better synch today than last Saturday.
They played a pretty good first half at UMKC, but the wheels came
off in the second. Adjustments didn't seem to happen at halftime.
They weren't in synch (an understatement) in the second half.
I don't know to call it better shooting by KC, or worse defense by
the Bison, maybe a combo of both, but that was a very winnable
game that slipped away. Bison couldn't hit the broad side of a barn
in the second, either. It was a painfull second half to sit and watch.
They'll need to get it together to have a chance to win tonight.

btw, the UMKC gym isn't as tiny as many seem to think.
It's better than the BSA in several important aspects.
I was pleasantly surprised by the place.

Definitely beatable, just not by the Bison.

It was an ugly game with both teams playing pretty good defense. Thought the Jack's had a little more fire. We hurried our shots and very frankly took a lot of poor ones. Listening to Carolyn on the post game, I think that she'll have a pretty good game plan for Brookings on feb. 13. In all honesty, the Jack's are a little down from previousl years. Don't get me wrong, a good win for them at the BSA.

I'd say we're lacking at least a couple of things, ball movement, crisp passing, and ATTITUDE. Some of the girls are bringing it, but not enough yet. I like the potential of some of our younger players. :confused:

a mixture of both IMO. To the Jack's credit, they did rotate quite well on defense and block cutting guards while creating enough confusion to create turnovers, however, the Bison continue to consistently throw the ball away with attempted half and full court passes that they are clearly not capable of making.

Yes we threw the ball away too much, but so did the Jackrabbits. They did a terrible job of hanging on to the ball. This game could have been ours because of how many turnovers our opponent from the south had. I worry that if they turn it over that much and still beat us soundly, what happens when they don't turn it over? We just weren't as physical as they were either. I thought our defense in the first half was good for the most part. Second half, not so much.

Jacks blocked shots, and outrebounded the Bison to help offset the Turnovers that Bison obtained. The icy shooting BOTH WAYS is in large turn due to the aggressive, in your face D for both teams.

Jacks are happy to escape with the W. That was not a given this year, unlike last year. Bison women still have a reasonable shot at #2, maybe even #1 (part of group) for the Summit.

It will be interesting to see if Jacks are on-track yet this year. The parts are there, just poor execution so far.
