I didn't know he was dead. Kind of sad. I was a freshman the same year he was and remember him as an out of this world player and nice kid in my dealings with him.

Also article up about Rocky Hager finding his players teams.

Indeed. He sat next to me in one smallish freshman class for part of a semester.

I remember those years pretty clearly, and the events as they unfolded, Rocky leaving, the guys getting into trouble, etc... Sad deal. I didn't know he was dead either, sad story.

It's a good thing that we had Entzion around to get things under control...

Really sad. He probably would have been my favorite Bison player if he played all 4 years. I loved watching him play.

Yeah, Reggie Scott had the most raw talent I ever saw but he also was very determined on the field. I remember Reggie's first year when they found out that he needed contacts or glasses - made me wonder if he had ever seen an eye doctor.

Talent wise, was Reggie the best Bison FB player ever? I'd like to hear what you folks think...he was unbelievable to watch.

Didn't know he had been killed.

That's a tragic life story. I remember his days on campus - as much as he got into trouble, he did work hard at keeping clean. Rest easy, Reggie. We hardly knew ye.

Didn't he prefer to be called Reginald instead of Reggie?

Are there any game day videos of him on the net? Heard of him but that was it, would like to see some game action of him!

There was just a discussion about Reggie on WDAY Sports Talk radio show this afternoon with Jerome Ceatham and Ben Ahmeman. Alot of insight and history.

I'll do some digging. Can't recall the year when he took UND to the cleaners in the playoffs. 94?

It was November of 95 the same time that TNT was doing the "Football in America" piece on the regular season game where the butt kicking gets mentioned in passing at the end.

Wow, my brother told me about this today. Man, this is so sad. Some comments to add context from my perspective.

1. With all due respect to you Lamar Gordan and Tyler Roehl fans out there, Reggie was the most talented running back I ever saw play for NDSU from 1990 on; hands down.

2. Never have I seen one player not only bring himself down, but a living legend head coach as well.

3. While I am very, very sad and feel no one deserves this kind of end, let's not try to rewrite history either. Some very bad things happened that led to him leaving NDSU. Let's not pretend that just because he largely got off that bad things did not happen. He was kicked out of school for a reason....

Still, a very sad chapter in Bison football just got sadder. Let's all pray this type of thing never happens again in Bison football and for Reggie's family.

It looks like Reggies Murderer was found guilty in the second trial. Some justice for the Scott Family.
