I agree. There was an NFL game...think it was the Giants...where that tactic was used. Can't think of the old coach's name...big name. It backfired on him. Coaches are paranoid about it...kind of an act of defeatism...wrong message to the defense...etc. But I still agree with you. They were either going to score a touchdown or a field goal. YSU had plenty of time. 'Time' was our problem.

This is on the coaches and the D coordinator. I'm not sure why. Nick had similar games and people wanted his head. At the end of the day, if a team doesn't make plays as time is running out, it is the fault of the leaders of the team.

We 'effectively' had no defense at all this year. Your ranting is correct.

Sideline passes are mostly thrown to where only our receiver can catch it. Lightning quick release...good reads most of the time...good future if he can stay clean.

I really don't care what message using yout TO's sends to the defense. They are terrible. If using your TO's send the message that you don't trust the D, I would have tried to use 5 or 6 of them!

How do you sit on the sidelines Bohl and watch the defense take the clock down to 22 seconds. You are an idiot. I could coach the team better. You have to leave yourself time to win the game, you have to. Terrible job of managing the clock on defense, terrible.

I agree Tony, I have never seen the Bison with such poor defensinve back play in almost 50 yrs in watching Bison football. I think it was our biggest problem all year. Wide open receivers with noboby close to them, waiting for receivers to catch the ball and then tackle them (sometimes not) I've been waiting for that position to improve all season, it never did. I don't think I saw one of our dbacks step in and bat a ball down all year. I'll bet this is the lowest number ever for interceptions ever in Bison football history. We are obiviously recruiting the wrong kids at that position.

Heck, I'll go farther: Not one of those guys back there deserves to play another down in a Bison uniform unless they do a complete 180. I don't care if they can run a 4.3 - send them to the track team because they aren't playing football.

You are high on crack if you think that he consistently puts it in stride on the numbers. He had a couple of great throws but consistently threw behind the receivers where they had to slow up, and catch the ball off their own ass. I actually think our receivers played their best game of the season today.

I don't think that Jose is our future. I think that he was only a little bit better than Nick, which wasn't going to win us many games. I hope I am wrong. I hope he has a good offseason.

That's probably a fair assessment. I just didn't see great QB play like many are saying. That's all. Jose didn't lose the game but he didn't do anything to win it, either.

For the record, I am not a Jose hater. I'm just trying to be realistic about our QB situation going into next year. Hopefully, some game time this year and a good offseason, plus decent competition improves our QB play, whomever it might be, next year.

His play on the drive right before the first half was a thing of beauty. Led the offense to 35 points today! That usually wins football games! I was impressed by his play. Remember, he is only a frosh and will only get better. That being said, if we have a better option next year I hope Bohl will realize this. He sure didnt with you know who.

Very true. But what also pisses me off is we got our first 3 and out of the game when we absolutely needed a drive to keep YSU off of offense. Combine that with our RB punting the ball (actually pretty decently) and well we just had no business winning this game or really any other this year. I mean, how much weird shiate can happen to a team in one year? 2 kickers and a punter injured. Pat getting suspended for a game because of a UNI player driving him into the sideline wall, thus blowing a chance for him to be the first FCS player to have 11 straight 100 yard games. We had an off season rap sheet that read like a review of the season premier of COPS and lost the 3rd straight game to SDSU for the first time in, well, probably since Jesus was invented. Erase this year from all record books. Put an * in all media guides going forward. This season shall now be ignored forever or referred to as "the year that shall not be named". Problem is we'll probably have to go through this next year too.

YSU was 10 of 16 and went 2 for 2 on fourth down

Coming into the game NDSU was converting 37% on 3rd down. Scored 83% of the time in the red zone though.

Wow. Stats are much better than it seemed, I'll give you that. The bat on the int was a low ball so he can be called out on that. Seems like the receivers are willing to try harder for him too. They played a great game as well. Hopefully, this is the beginning of something. Won't help much if the defense doesn't improve, though.

Personally, I don't really give a rat's ass who plays QB as long as they are winning games. It's hard to tell who that'll be when the defense keeps them losing.

I was fullback, number 33, for the Polk High Panthers, we were playing Andrew Johnson High for the High School City Championship. They had the better defense, but I scored 4 touchdowns to earn Polk High Most Valuable Player-and the City Championship. I had a scholarship for college, but i broke my leg. ummm what game were you watching? blocked FG for a touchdown, PP fumbled inside the 50, offense not converting when it mattered down the stretch, yeah sounds like the defenses fault... defense wasnt great by anymeans but when you put a young defense in a position like that... well...
