D looks solid thus far, stopping a lot of outside looks and controlling rebounds. Felt and Vaughan are having a field day penetrating the frontcourt D and Vaughan got an easy layup on a dish pass.

Felt makes the first points with two free throws on a fouled penetrating drive, Tveidt scores with a mid-range jumper.

Overall our team D is looking sharp, our inbounds play is looking shaky and almost gave up a nice alley-oop dunk on a recent inbound. Getting some bad fouls and turnovers are hurting us as we're at 8 or 9. Second half should improve on some of this - one turnover was an open-palm violation on Zastrow (didn't even know that was a foul).

Look for the D to re-key on Vaughan and Tveidt, opening up the inside game. Carlson will post up double-digits and Flowers might make a bucket or two. ;)

He knew we weren't before the game started but once you figure out you have the game won and you still have the air, you make the opponent sound as good as possible to make your win sound even better. ;)

First game of the year last year we rolled up Mayville 128-64, doubbling them up. I remember because I have the game ball. BUT, yes, we lost the next game on the road to Idaho and there was a little panic involved by fans. ;)

I don't know why they didn't attack the hoop more like they were at the end, going to the line or getting layups and the foul. Earlier I thought we forced a lot of shots as well.

Tveidt had 19, he didn't shoot the ball great but I guess you could say he passed the first test of a team focusing on him as the main scorer. Vaughan really stole the show tonight, which is probably good to see early and on the road.

The team committed the same mistake they have done in the past, they play well for most of the game but they let UVU have one big run in the second half that they couldn't recover from.

Last year the team had the poise to play 40 minutes of tough defense and really took care of the ball, that is the formula for road success. This team still has a ways to go in finding that poise.

Winning on the road is tough though, which is why I am very impressed with your Jacks right now.

He would have made a difference, he is a great defender and it is hard to replace that kind of athleticism. Hard to replace him with a true freshman but I will say that Felt played well for it being game one.

I don't know the team well enough to say, but my guess is he isn't nearly athletic enough and not enough ball handling skills to make a significant contribution.

The Gophers are beating UVU 18-16 with under 8 minutes to go in 1st half. Game is on the Big Ten Network, Gus Johnson has the call(for those who can't remember he called the NDSU-Kansas game).

Final score of the UVU-Minnesota game, 76-51. They hung with them for the better part of the first half, not dissimilar to how we stuck with Kansas, though obviously we were a heck of a lot closer. Overall I wouldn't call losing to them a bad loss, but obviously that doesn't count for much on the stat sheet.
