Much better. :)

I cant agree with you endzone. The assertion only shows that east west split that runs through the state.

During my years in ND, I worked with customers in each of those cities (plus Fargo) and a number of the smaller towns in between. None approach 'true' armpit status. Ever been through Brunswick NJ?

Lets keep this thread on topic and take El Forke Grande to task. ;)

Minot, the Magic City???!

Well, in the interest of good faith negotiation, OK. But, you have to give that Minot ranks above Grand Forks, even if by a hair (color to be determined by EndZone).

Oh, definitely above Grand Forks, no argument here. I hate that city for more reasons than just the university to be left nameless. We'll go with Minot by brown hair with a side of 34C?

Hey!! I'm from Minot! I never want to move back there but it's not that bad of a place compared to other cities in ND. Of all the cities (relatively speaking of course), I thought GF was the arm-pit of the group outside the University. Despite my hatred for the school, I always liked the campus.

:D Just messing with you Indy...

Gary is an entirely different kind of "not-nice". Gary is a very poor, crime-riddled city. It's more a part of Chicago than Indiana so we usually forget about them.

Despite having 3 pretty good colleges (Indiana State, Rose-Hulman, and St. Mary of the Woods), it's a very blue collar town with not a lot going for it. Of the state schools (IU, Purdue, Ball State, ISU...not counting the IUPU variations), it's the bottom of the list. They don't have the flagship program that you pick ISU over other schools.

Fargo: The best city

Bismarck, Williston, Jamestown, Minot: Not armpits, decent towns.

El Forko Grande, Dickinson: The biggest armpits

At least we an actual ballpark...Unlike the glorified softball diamond you guys have on Washington...They should have have never changed it in 1991-1992. ;)

Williston is infested with crack head meth addicts. Nasty! Dickinson is much nicer.

I've never personally seen a downtown more run down than Dickinson's. Also their downtown smells like urine.

Williston's downtown has it all over Dickinson's.

Leaving Wed with the tailgating trailer, everyone is welcomed. I have a friend in Terre Haute who wonders why we are coming there, but with their win over Western IL, hopefully they will get some ticket sales. Another claim to fame is this is where Larry Bird went to school. Swing by, we're under the American flag and Snorty. Yellow and black snowmobile trailer, we'll have heat (if needed), kid friendly, and will have adult beverages.

Go Bison!

ever take a drive around Williston High School? That town is a dump.
most of the improvements in Dickinson are on the north side

IndyBison is apparently too young to have partaken in any of Terre Haute's infamous "Red Light District" in the past or he would be singing a different tune about our city. He sounds like a typical India "No Place" resident who has never travelled east or west of Indy, just believes what he hears on "Wild West Wagon Train", etc. By the way, some of the "district" still exists if you look around real hard or ask the right people. Reallistically, lots of motels, restaurants, 6th Ave. Bar Girlies too keep you occupied. No need to travel another 120 mile roundtrip to Indy to eat and lay your head.

Have a safe trip and GO SYCAMORES!

You live in Sullivan! Of course Terre Haute seems like a great city! Just kidding. I couldn't resist. I apologize for that. Please forgive me.

I have been to Terre Haute several times and base my opinion on those trips, comments from friends who live or have lived there and friends who have gone to school there. I can't give any of them grief this week because none of them know or care about the football program. I'm probably going to the game with a fellow Bison who is married to a Sycamore. I asked why she wasn't going and he said she never went to a game when she was an undergrad, why would she go as an alum?

Safe travels to those of you who are coming and check in with SycamoreFanatics for the latest happenings in Terre Haute. He would definitely know more than me!!

Geez, that's harsh. I love Dickinson, but I guess I'm biased since i grew up pretty close. I don't think its any dumpier than any other town in ND. It has it's bad areas like any town Including Fargo. The downtown in Dicksinson kind of lost it's usefulness, though, when stores started going up north of the Interstate.

I worked for the Forest Service last summer and Killdeer wasn't close enough so I lived in Dickinson. I had a blast. I guess my point is I think its a great town. Call it an armpit if you must!

Hey now--my wife is from there and many Mandanites are quite proud of the massive off-road diesel spill remediation project...;)

Okay funny guys, make fun of Mandan if you must, but I'm going to need your home addresses so I know where to send this (don't worry, there's plenty enough to go around) :)

You guys leave Mandan alone. :ranting: Summers here on the bank of the wide Missouri River are great as well as barhoping by boat at our 3 riverfront bars. BTW I'm not going to make it to the Indiana St game, but I'll be at the last home game against Youngstown.

I'm from Mandan and lived there for 17 years, so I retain all the rights in the world to disparage it!

The river bank in Mandan destroys anything Bismarck can come up with and like I mentioned earlier, we have a great ballpark.
