Holy cow, coming back from 14 down to win it 42-24. An 86-yard pick 6, and two TD receptions of 66 and 92 yards put Iowa at 9-0. These guys know how to rally for the comeback.

I won't lie, I'm a bit of a closet Tide fan but I'm almost rooting for the Hawkeyes to make it to the BCS game. It'd be something to lead your team to their first ever 9-0 season and win a championship.

The great thing is there are only two teams who play in that game. Win or lose no other team that year can say they were in it.

Yep guess you're right. Iowa sure got helped by the refs though but they came up big to win it for sure.

I hope to God for a BCS clusterf**k this year so that the fans revolt and they eventually overthrow that BCS bullshit and get a playoff.

If last year's Texas-Oklahoma-Texas Tech mess didn't throw it for a loop I'm convinced nothing will.

Meh it'll be Texas and whoever wins the SEC unless Texas major league pisses one down their leg. If Iowa gets in over an undefeated Texas team I don't think that would be fair. Or we could just have them play to see who was better. Oh wait, that would make too much sense. :banghead: :banghead: :banghead:

What is gay about it? It doesn't involve Texas?

Nothing would make me happier than to see Florida, Texas, and Bama stumble down the stretch. Setting the stage for some real BCS chaos.

that would be dumb... no way Boise State deserves to get in over a one loss Florida, Bama, or Texas

A one loss Texas team? Yes. A one loss Bama or Florida, maybe(depends on who that loss is to). Lets face it, the Big 12 is a bit down this year. SEC is the best conference but I would loathe seeing Florida-Alabama play twice, especially if there are other undefeated teams out there.

Not so much any more. Iowa falls to Northwestern at home in Kinnick, and looses QB Stanzi, likely for the rest of the regular season, in the process. I didn't watch the game, but it sounds like it was an ugly game. Iowa's defense outscored its offense, and I think there was one field goal in the last 2/3rds of the game.

Tough loss for the Hawks, although my officemate has been saying for weeks that he was worried because Iowa always struggles with Northwestern. Gotta beat OH for the Rose Bowl now.

I wouldn't really consider this a choke. They were playing with an amazing amount of football Karma and lots of luck to boot. The have not impressed me all year. It was just a matter of time when the bubble burst.

Now for the ultimate choke, you might look at a couple of PAC 10 teams - Oregon and USC. Both teams have amazing talent/coaching and both have shot their chance at a NC down their leg.

plus their starting QB got hurt in the 2nd qt.... also it seems like Northwestern upsets somebody they shouldnt every year

mebisonII
11-09-2009, 07:59 PM
To be fair, they've now lost what, their top 3 running backs, their QB, and played part of the season without their top tight end and one other starter, although I can't think who at the moment. To be 9-1 at this point in spite of all of that is pretty impressive.

But of course it had to be Northwestern they lost to, which makes it so much worse.
