Just a bad overall performance. His 1st quarter pick deflated the entire team. He had Williams wide open and threw it out of bounds. He's missed a few receivers and thrown off target. Even his TD pass DJ had to make a 1 handed catch and create something out of nothing

Oh I am not only blaming Mertens. The play calling is aweful, but I think it is being called to minimize the damage that Mertens can do. I know he has made a few big throws down the field, but I don't think the coaches have ever trusted his arm (and I feel with good reason).
