Taller and faster wide recievers and d backs.

Bigger and faster OLBs and 2 or 3 deep.

A kicker that makes 75% outside of 40 and 90% inside 40 plus can reach the end zone on kick offs.

And not kick it out of bounds.

1) QB
2) Defensive ends that can get pressure consistantly
3) Linebackers
4) Wide Receivers
5) Kicker.

The sad part is the DE, LB's, and WR's are equally as bad and equally as important and kicker should be higher on the list.

I do believe we will be BIG Jason Obarski next week taking the kicking duties.

I'd sure like the Bison to get a big safety like UNI had today in #18. That kid was a beast and really laid the wood. He was 6'5" too!

I actually hope Jensen pans out at QB and we can put Thorton at safety. Your best athletes should play defense. Probably get crushed for saying that, but just my opinion.

Bohl did bring in some tall and fast receivers in his last class, hopefully they can step up next year.

After the 2nd missed FG, we could see Bohl immediately walk up the sideline while yelling to Big O to start warming up. I thought he was gonna make the change.

#18 is listed on the UNI site as 6'5", 224 lbs. He looked so huge out there, almost like an OLB or speed rushing DE playing in the secondary.

Seems to be an epidemic of that with this staff.

A really good QB..........and about every other position on the field.

Thorton
Rushing: 5-76
TD runs of 10 yards and 23 yards
Passing: 6-7, 162 yards
TD passes of 34 yards and 40 yards
Didn't play the 2nd half.

He also punts, but they were playing Williston and didn't have to. I don't think he was put in at Safety in this one, again, didn't have to be put in.

Thorton is just a beast on the football field. I had the pleasure of being on the receiving end of his game twice my sophomore and junior years of high school, and even when our team was getting blown out I couldn't help but go "Man, we NEED a kid like that at QB."

Granted, CHS pulled out a huge win vs. BHS my senior year, but Thorton was still very impressive. He's going to be a difference-maker as NDSU's QB and I believe he'll compete for playing time right away, if he doesn't redshirt.

He is a total athlete. When they were playing South this year, he was put in at Safety "because they needed a big stop" What does that tell you. I think that game his punt average was like 45 yards also. Oh gee, he played the QB position too. Alot to ask of a young student athlete. When interviewed that week, he was excited about NDSU and was looking forward to playing for a NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP! Kid didn't even graduate HS yet and is already itching for a DI championship. Good times for NDSU.

What if it doesn't happen. I remember a time when we had a hyped QB coming in. Turned out good for us I guess.

Could happen, who knows. I guess I'm just excited about some attitude and leadership coming in. Trying to be positive.

Thorton can play Safety very well. Hey, can we do some wildcat or trick plays, Thorton + Jensen in at the same time on offense? Imagine the possibilities, well, if we had an aggressive coach. Maybe when Esley is a Junior it will happen.

Is Thornton fast enough to play safety in the FCS?
