Guys, The state of the team sucks, let's lighten the mood alittle :) . I'd say these could be fact or fiction. I'll start:

On the PA at the IllState game: "How bout that Bison defense!"

should never or will never? If it's will never, we may not hear,
"And that's another Bison FIRST DOWN!", especially next weekend.

i texted endzoneqb that the first time we heard 'how bout that bison defense' today was with 11:12 left in the 3rd.

what we should be hearing is: eeeeeeeeeeeeevvvvverybody up for the kick off! the stumble is on!

Taunting is not a part of the Bison tradition. Every player is taught about that early on.

I actually thought Mertens DID lead us the last 2 drives. With us trailing 20-17 with 8 mins left, our group was making the comment..."well, here's where Walker would have led us down for the go-ahead TD which Mertens has yet to do over the last 2 seasons"...for the first time (that I remember anyway) he led us right down the field for what should have been the game winning TD with a little over 3 mins left. Then after our D surrendered that lead just 2 mins later, we had another chance with 1:29 left. Again, Nick led us down to the 9 yard line with what should have been the game winning TD or game tying FG. A moronic taunting episode later, we lose again.

Don't get me wrong, up until those last 2 drives and the 1 long pass earlier I didn't think he was effective, but maybe something clicked for him those last 2 drives??

Are you nuts? This team produced both the longest run and pass in Bison football history. It is a team for the ages.

The running game led us down the field. Mertens continued his side-arming throws. And that second to last pass. Wow. The running backs and o-line were the only chance we had of getting back in the game. The coaching is what lost it for us though.

The coaches just arent doing there job. Unless they are being told to coach that way.
TWO weeks in a row the game came down to the last two minutes and we still dont have a two minute offense. This week the clock is RUNNING DOWN and Mertens and the team is STANDING looking at the sidelines trying to figure out what to do. Then instead of just moving the chains to get the first down that would have stopped the clock AND put them in field position to tie-win the game they again throw a low percentage long ball. WHAT THE F---K.
Mertens should never have to look to the sidelines in a two minute offense unless the clock is stopped. TWO plays are always called so after the first play they can just keep playing.
I dont want to even start on how inept our D is and that coaching philosophy.

Scotty: "And Pat Grace might be lifted here in the middle of the 3rd quarter in favor of UNI's backup quarterback"

Phil: "Yeah, Scotty, after having been sacked 7 times and going 2 for 18 with 3 interceptions, he may very well be heading for an early shower."

Jeremy: "I'm heading over to the UNI sidelines to see if I can get some comments from the Panther coaching staff. My leading question will be: 'coach, some of the local media is suggesting that Pat Grace may be replaced.....can you comment on that?' "
