I think they are going to be looking to see if some tailgating rigs would like to attend (of course your rig would be live on ESPN) and I am 99% sure Michigan State is one of the other schools featured. Pretty sure this is October 16, correct me if I am wrong, just checked and
there is nothing going listed at the Fargodome so they would not charging to park. That would possibly inhibit the chance of tailgating.

I still can't believe we're a part of this - 9 schools out of the nation and we're part of it! This is a huge step forward for NDSU, and I really hope we can build off of this success.

We need to get EVERYONE there on the 16th - the BSA needs to be rocking when they cut to NDSU. Reminds me of when the selection show was on, they cut to NDSU and the place just went up.

We'll have a band there doing our thing, and once the gig starts for real I'll be in the crowd going nuts. So stoked for this!

I'm excited about this, too--but I don't think this compares with the Kansas game, the SportsCenter highlights after the Oakland game, or maybe even the NCAA tourney selection show in terms of exposure. I have heard that this will be on ESPN U @ 9:00. Will it also be on ESPN 2 at the same time?

Thanks
Midnight Madness starts on ESPNU at 8:00 and goes until 12:00 and a much shorter version runs from 10:00-10:30 on ESPN2.

My guess would be 2-3k but it better be a lot more than that.

On second thought, 2k may not fully cover the horn section of the pep band. OK. 3.5k.

I'm gonna be there in a few hours!! I'm hoping for 3-4K in attendance, but if we get at least 2,000 I'll be OK with that. Also hoping for another 3,500 average attendance for this year as well. GOOOOO BISON!!!!!

Anybody gonna discuss this event on B-Ville tonight?
The opening sequence just showed all 9 nine schools. The NDSU intro was from Bentsen-Bunker and obviously only the team was in on knowing they were about to go live because you could see a lot of VB fans in the background being very quiet (must have been during a break)
Andy Katz reminds the panel....."I love Fargo!" And has corrected one of the other broadcasters on the proper pronunciation of BiZon.

Why the BBF?

I don't know. Maybe they (ESPN) were told that there would be a lot of energy there between 7 and 8.(V-Ball) And then maybe they'll move on over??

my guess is because the late show doesn't actually start at the BSA until 9pm and they didn't want to show an empty stadium like MSU did.

This would be my guess...

It was also nice to see the basketball teams at the BBF supporting the Volleyball team.

It was a pretty good event put on by Saul and everybody. The young kids have plenty of potential, Felt and Aaberg looked like they could definitely contribute now. Braun will definitely benefit from redshirting but he showed a lot of athletic ability.

Tveidt was pretty impressive, I believe he won the actual dunk contest. The Bison men won the three point contest both Felt and Vaughan looked really sharp. This team has a few guys in Tveidt, Felt, and Vaughan that can really stroke it in from beyond the arc.

The team will definitely be a work in progress but I think they could surprise when conference play starts up.

Dude, this is the defacto operation for ESPN or any tv broadcast... People don't continuously freakout cheer like you see on tv all the time, anywhere, anyplace, ever.

I was disappointed with ESPNU's coverage of all locales.

I was hoping for more footage of dunk/3 point contests/skits etc. It was essentially a 4 hr preview show highlighting ESPN's talking heads with occasional cut-ins to locations for interviews.

Just so the Teammakers know, Saul said the second shot was for a soda (but a soda supplied by the head coach is still pretty good).

Does anyone have a link to some of the ESPNU video last night? A quick search on You Tube and ESPN360 found nothing. I'd like to see what it was like on the air. Couldn't watch it live as I was at a hockey game last night and no DVR. Thanks!

I agree. I should clarify. This is the biggest thing ever in our own house (on campus in Fargo). Instead of going on the road all the time, for once ESPN is coming to the BSA! ;)

Again, I had to pinch myself not because I saw my son with Thundar on ESPN2 last night, but because IT WAS LIVE FROM THE BSA!!! I NEVER thought that day would come this decade! Great work Saul! ;)
