Love the Forum coverage online. NDSU game day, main story is how the Sue may or may not have a deadline to drop or keep their nickname. WTF? And the only game day articles are buried in the side bar with one of them being...3 questions for Dale Lennon. WTF again. Didn't they do all this blubbering, "Oh my god it's the old Sue coach versus NDSU" angle last year? Is this the type of crap coverage we're going to get every time we play SIU? If so lets just drop out of the conference now. It's one thing if we're playing the Sue to get the NDSU/UND angle, but I don't want to see it if we're playing someone else.

For all of the talk (and proof) of a struggling Bison defense, I was encouraged by the ESPN defense statistics for the FCS. I was surprised to learn that NDSU has 8 of the top 40 tacklers in the FCS (that's 20%). You've got to believe these guys are gonna get the whole game together sooner or later.

I hope Matt Gratzek was right when he was quoted in the Richard Bowman article in today's inForum as saying, “The first couple of games we ran into some really good athletes,” Gratzek said. “Now we’re back in rhythm and we should get back on track.”

not to burst your bubble but ESPN defensive statistics are horrendously bad for FCS teams. Offensive statistics are pretty solid but they don't seem to care about defensive statistics accuracy.

I gotta believe that a lot of that has to with the defense being on the field more than they should be. In other words, if the opponents march down the field piling up 1st downs, there are going to be a lot of cumulative defensive stops.
