well already with an 0-2 start and things not looking that bright I honestly don't see a sold out first game. Honestly how many fans show up next week for the home opener???

I would guess around 17kish :hide:

I bet we sell out the home opener, but maybe go down from there??

well I'm guessing at least 3 counting our season ticket group.

The game is almost sold out, according to GoBison.com.

I know there will be at least 4,000+ students there (although half of them may leave by halftime)

15-16K. I'll be going because I'm a season ticket holder but I can tell you I'm not excited. If it sells out look for plenty of empty seats. We can only hope a large crowd and domination brings some swagger back to this team.

Our group will be there as well, 10 of us, if we suffered thru that debacle a few years ago, we can do anything, but the buzz leading up to game day will definitely be lacking after an 0-2 start. I'm guessing the combination of an 0-2 start with the fact we are playing a complete joke of a game will put the actual attendance at about 14-15K although it may be announced as a sellout.

Sigh...as i read in the paper this week...at least we have tailgating!

The record will show no effect, everyone is drooling to get back to tailgating and rockin the dome! 18,127 is my prediction

It is all about the tailgate at this point. I am more excited to be at a semi warm weather tailgate than anything else for this game.

Should be fun to see some other players get involved. Hopefully Voit gets the carries he has earned and maybe see what another QB can do in the 2nd half. I would guess this will be a tough week of practice.

99% chance I'll be working on Saturday so I hope all of you go to the game and recruit more fans to go. IMHO it has to make a difference to the players if the fans stay behind them.

This is from gobison.com

"TICKETS: The crowd estimate on Monday morning for this week’s game is 17,000 ... For tickets, contact the NDSU ticket office at 1-888-231-NDSU (6378) ... The Bison were sixth in 2008 NCAA I Division FCS attendance, averaging 18,032 fans over six home dates."

I hope they can get some of those unused tickets in the hands of students if they end up selling out of their 4,000. Actually I'd like to see them give up the rest of the GA crowd to students and all the unused tickets. I noticed in my teammakers section there were a few empty rows behind me. I assume they are not being sold for potential season ticket holders. My section had a few obnoxious book readers so it would be cool to inject some students up there to liven the place up.

I'm surprized that no one posted the Forum article that at the end of Monday 2,000 student tickets were gone. Which in my opinion is a good turn out I'm perdicting that all 4,000 student tickets will be gone by friday.

I think selling out the dome by giving the remaining tickets to student would do wonders for atmospher given the fact that the game could be over quickly and the team needs some positive vibes after an 0.2 start

Heck, it just makes good sense for a lot of reasons.

Of course, if the Students want to be guaranteed more tickets, they could always buy them (at a significantly reduced rate perhaps if bought by Student Senate???)

Just a thought. I understand the issue is a heated one, but if the students need tickets in excess of 4000 this would be a good way for them to get them. Beats a buch of blue :banghead: and red :banghead: empty seats.

Which brings me to a whole 'nother rant, but not today.

Last year there were more than the usual 4000 tickets given out to students for the opener. Gene already has stated that if the game is not sold out, the same will most likely happen this year.

I thought the students could purchase tickets and get a refund at the student union if they brought the stub in?

On the ticket website they have removed general admission seats from a large area on the north side. I think it's section 24-28. I assume that must be for students and they anticipate an overflow crowd.

They are not sold out. There is still resevered seats left, However, no GA seats remaining. Just Bought 4 more seats in Section 18. So there is Good seats available just not GA. They won't sell standing room only until it sells out.

Somewhat surprising for a few reasons: 0-2 start, a very winnable game against a supposedly much weaker opponent, and wonderful weather for mid-September. Not that I'm complaining about a big crowd, just that I am surprised by ticket demand.

roadwarrior

But the wonderful weather will increase the number of tailgaters, who I assume will make it into the dome by game time. (except for a few that may have one too many drinks!)
