And...?

This is football/full dome lighting, not specialized concert lighting? Would be great!

Full arena lighting. I was told about it at one of the scrimmages last year.

Do they plan to complete installation and have the new lighting operational prior to:
a) the 2010 spring football game?
b) the 2010 football season?
c) New Years Day 2011?

My guess would be prior to the 2010 regular football season. Seems like all major upgrades (video boards, sound system, etc.) have taken place in summer.

So the big question now is can they have someone run scores from other college football games that we actually care about?

That is great news! In all honesty I didn't realize it was THAT expensive to do! 600 grand!

What other improvements does the dome need? In no particular order...

1) Finish the west side of the dome and better the tailgate lot. Add some Bison signage. Put up a video board. Put up some Bison flags. I got an idea... how about install plug in's for tailgating.
2) More Bison stuff in the dome. The one side is cool but the other is lacking.
3) New security (sorry had to throw that in there)
4) Move those damn Championship banners where we can see them without binoculars!
5) New turf.
6) Bison store

What you dont want to know what ole Slippery Rock is doing every minute but they wont give you the score of Ohio State and Michigan. Yeah thats pretty pathetic.

I sure hope so. The GSMB's Sounds of the Gridiron concert is happening in the Dome this year.

Oh. I guess the games would look better on TV, too. ;)

I recently saw an advertisement for engineering services for the project.

In speaking to a person that works at the Fargodome, this project is very doubtful to be completed until possibly the 2011 season. Earliest possible might be October November this year, but doubtful.

The engineer has not sent out any requests for quotes on the project as of yet.

More recently however the computer which controls the lighting has failed, and they are trying to resolve that issue. Do you control all the lights manually?

The new computer will cost up to $ 10,000 to replace.

I can assure you the Fargodome will do the best with what they have until the new systems can be installed.
