Centenary loses their first match of the year, UMKC continues their winless ways, and NDSU drops a 1-0 loss to Wisconsin. The Bison take on UW-Green Bay on Sunday, play in a tourney in Boise next weekend, and then take on Mary before starting their conference slate with ORU in Tulsa on Oct 2nd.

The Bison's first conference loss(1-3) comes at the hands of the other unbeaten, IUPUI. UMKC gets the first win in its short history by knocking off SUU, 2-0.

Hammer- I believe that Soccer Standings are determined by points, 3 points for a win and 1 point for a tie, do you know how our canceled game with Centenary will effect the standings in the end. Right now NDSU, SDSU, IUPUI are in first place with 12 points but the NDSU/Centenary game basicaly counts as a loss for both NDSU and Centenary.

Here is what I know from talking to several people at the league office. There is a chance the game gets rescheduled as long as playoff implications are still on the line. This weekend goes a long way to setting up who is in and who is outside looking in.

Thanks to the Bison win and the IUPUI loss, the Bison are now on top of both the VB and W Soccer standings*.

*That's my story and I'm sticking to it. ;)

I am guessing that this is the first time the NDSU soccer team has been in first place in the Summit League! Great job!

They play at home this sunday afternoon.

I'm not 100% sure, but I think the Bison clinched a Summit playoff berth with the win today, regardless if the Centenary game is made up or not.

edit: I think SDSU clinched too.

Well, the last two days of the season will be interesting. SDSU clinched the #1 seed and at least a share of the regular season crown by defeating the Bison today. IUPUI became the third team to clinch a spot in the tourney by defeating Oakland yesterday. As a result of those games, the Bison will face IUPUI in the first round of the tourney no matter what happens from here out, but who is #2 and who is #3 is yet to be decided.

There are three teams vying for the fourth slot. Two of them are facing each other tomorrow. The WIU/Oakland game will determine everything. The winner will claim the fourth seed unless the game ends in a tie. If that happens, ORU will claim the seed.

NDSU will be making up the Centenary game on Monday. In many ways the game is meaningless(it won't change the playoff pairings), but it will determine whether we get a share of the conference title. That title might be shared three ways if both the Bison win on Monday and IUPUI defeats IPFW tomorrow.

IUPUI clinches the #2 seed and a share of the league title by defeating IPFW. NDSU gets the #3 seed and can still win a share of the title by defeating Centenary tomorrow morning.

WIU and Oakland are scoreless at halftime.
