According to the linked article, NDSU has offered a JUCO QB but he's waiting to see if Tennessee will sign him.

Looks like he was a qualified player out of high school and that is why he would have three years of eligiability.

Here's what I could dig up quick.

Guys on a message board in CA had this to say. Several guys weighed in and said something similar to the following.

-Makes great decisions
-Pinpoint accuracy
-Doesn't like to run with the ball
-Intense personality

Here are his high school statshttp://www.maxpreps.com/california/football/south-hills-(west-covina)/nick-lamaison/stats.aspx?athleteid=77fbc847-01ca-418b-ba86-3fc8f2c067bb&ssid=d1db68fc-57d1-417d-af94-2a17b0dc8773&urpath=,local,player

It sounds like Tennessee is fairly interested.
"The Vol coaches appear to have still not finished up their recruiting efforts for the 09 season. Nick Lamaison from Mt. San Antonio College in Walnut, Calif appears to be the Vols most recent target.

Having been approached by Jim Chaney, it appears the Vols may be showing some interest in the JUCO quarterback.

Lamaison graduates Jr. College on June 12th, and could be looking to make a decision fairly quickly. The JUCO signal caller would have 4 years to play 3 should he receive and offer from the Vols and accept.

Given the date of Lamaison's graduation, if there was a good weekend to visit UT's campus, this would be it. "

Sounds like he might be perfect for us if Kiffin passes. Who'd want to play for him anyway? ;)

He would look great in a Bison uniform. I understand wanting to play on the big stage. If he came to NDSU...the stage would be pretty awesome too.

if he goes to tennessee and sucks he gets to hear about it on espn, usatoday, etc. if he comes here, he'll just get ripped to shreds by a handful of nut jobs on an internet forum :D

I'm not getting my hopes up any more, I've been burned before. I hope this guy realized he could come here and start immediately and make an impact. Just get him here any way legally possible.

Yeah I'm definitely not getting my hopes up but if Bohl can pull this off, we're in good shape. I still think Mertens starts the season (not enough time to learn offense) but if he struggles we would have a great option off the bench plus a starter for 2 more years.

so why is this guy without a team still?

He's only played one year at his JC. He qualified academically for DI, so his choice to start at a JC must have been based on not getting any good DI offers out of high school. He's prepared to stay at his JC for another year if that's what it takes to get a good offer. If Tennessee offers, he's gone. I don't think we know if he considers our offer good enough, or if he's just using it as fodder during interviews.

my guess is we can close this thread...doesnt seem like he is even interested in our program...we.re just gonna have to suck it up and support mertens and mohler, yes he had an unproductive year but than again he had some awfully BIG shoes to fill...everyone deserves a second chance right? so i say we show him some support and see what he's got....but we still gotta pray for some incoming recruits this year :)

For now...Mertens, Mohler, Jensen...or Mertens, Jensen, Mohler...or any combination that works the best.

Thanks for the posting...and it's interesting...but I'm paranoid.

Interestingly...Tennessee doesn't show him on their 'interest' board. But it could have to do with the timing.

Vols fans are actually crazy (http://www.sportsbybrooks.com/vols-fans-send-death-threats-to-their-own-qb-24171)

we're actually pretty forgiving. their qb has a bad game and their fans want him dead. ours has a below average season and we give the guy a second chance.

Maybe that will convince this guy that the Vols are f**king insane, and that NDSU is a much much better choice!
