Now that the sprinturf is complete, how long will it be before the home soccer games are played on the new field? I have heard that the existing soccer field is not full size. (apparently there are various sizes of the field allowed similiar to hockey rinks) I know that Pete wants to play there. I guess the stumbling blocks are restrooms and press box facilities.

Can the North stadium be used and refurbished?

Well, from the tv news interviews it looks like there's yellow soccer lines painted on it.

Yes, the yellow lines are there, and the nice thing is that they are not painted on, but permanently part of the grass.

At the very least, the new field will be a tremendous practice surface for football, soccer, baseball, softball, etc. It will be interesting to see what NDSU does with the north seating complex.

I say they should refurbish the entire north bleachers. It is just way too important of a place on campus to let to rot away.

New soccer fields must be a maximum of 120 x 75 yards an a minimum of 115 x 75 yards according to the NCAA.

And does anyone know what the size of the new practice field turf is?

I'm pretty sure 120 yards. The yellow lines for soccer were at the ends of the end zones.

Thanks, then it certainly is a start.

I couldn't find the NCAA rules on field size but the International rules are that pitches must be 70 to 80 yards wide and 110 to 120 yards long.
