How are the Force doing? I visited their website a while ago and it seemed kind of half-assed.

Force is in the playoffs. Won the first round 3 games to 0. They either beat Lincoln the first round and are now playing Omaha, or the other way around.

The Force have been the hottest team in the USHL in the 2nd half of the year. They'll be back in town on Saturday @ 7:05. The Force are a great style of hockey to watch, they have GREAT goaltending, Mike Lee, USHL's goalie of the year, and they play an uptempo style of play. They are very deep at forward lead by the USHL's 2nd leading goal scorer Andy Toranto.

We have season tickets and this team has just improved so much. The USHL is a little looser on the clutching, grabbing and stickwork compared to the IIHL (U18 officials) but the playoff game against Omaha was great hockey and the one (or two) agains Lincoln should be great as well.

If you haven't been to a Force game come out on Friday. Nothing beats playoff hockey!!

FYI, if it's raining on Saturday, use the shuttle busses.

I think it is on Midcontinent channel 23 also, for those stuck at home with kids such as myself.

I don't know if this is possible for you, but you could take the kids and sit in GA. THe great thing about GA is there's usually plenty of room for the kids to run around the whole time.

Either way, enjoy the game.

GA is the way to go for Force games. you pay much cheaper, go sit in the corner and have the ability to stretch your legs on the seat infront of you and have some beers without being so cramped.

Spuds made a nice run this year, but the Rams know how to get it done in St Paul.

Hopefully, Lee can continue this play at St Cloud.

If it's not already, this is on the verge of becoming the biggest accomplishment in junior hockey history in F-M (the other being the Jets runner-up finish in the NAHL in 2006 - lower level of play, but many more teams.) Those in Fargo with even a passing interest should check the team out; the play a great brand of hockey.

Force win last night 7-3. http://www.pointstreak.com/prostats/boxscore.html?gameid=983631 Pack the UPC tonight!! No Westons on the Rams this year. I think Kurt played on their championship team.

He'll play at least two years in St. Cloud. Young goaltenders and the NHL usually don't mix. He's a great goalie, but he's not ready for the big time yet.

Nice crowd of 4600 the finals will be a tough ticket. Hopefully they'll have a chance to win in Fargo.

This end of the season run has been great for the Force. First year success, at the gate, was pretty much guaranteed, with the new franchise and new building. Now this run to the USHL finals will really help with season ticket retention and should help expand a fan base. THere seems to be real fans showing up for games, who have some passion, not just "see me" fans there to socialize.

Good luck in the finals!!

Force games are a pretty good time. ive only been to like 3 though. Kind of a pain that theyre on the southside of town. A downtown arena wouldve been awesome and more accomodating

Once they get the parking figured out things will improve 10x. The building itself and the game day experience are just fine. Parking: ghetto.

Not if you live and work less than 5 blocks from the arena. However, if it would have been downtown, that would have been a GREAT atmosphere, for pre and post - game.

Long term, I think the arena is in a good location. If Brandt gets his development going out there, it should be pretty cool in 5-10 years.

I gotta say, Dean Blais has gotta be some kind of a miracle worker. He took an expansion team from the bottom of the league to the championship series... that is pretty damn good. The games are fun to go to; I can't imagine how nuts the UP Center is going to be this week. As far as the parking, something does need to be done ASAP. I thought I heard that they were gonna wait until the other 4 rinks were completed to do the parking (summer of 2010). But when I went to buy my tickets today, they had some heavy machinery out there. I don't know if they were doing road work or if they were getting ready to pave at least one of the parking lots, but let's keep our fingers crossed.

The people at the UP Center know that parking is a disaster. I don't have any inside info, but if I was to guess they will pave the south lot. The only other parking that could be paved is west of the future rinks and I doubt that they will pave that and risk it getting chewed up by heavy machinery when they are building the four sheets.

FYI, right now premium seat holders get preffered parking, but for next year all season ticket holders will have parking passes. 1 pass for every 2 tickets purchased. I'm guessing those people will get the west lot.

Just a quick FYI for those of you thinking of picking up tickets at the door tonight. As of 2:45 the ticket window said they only had 400 or so tickets left for tonights game. Should be close to a sell out!! Sounded like Friday's games were going fast. I tried to by and extra ticket in my section and there weren't any available.

Must of gave away alot of free tickets that weren't used. The paper today listed an attendance of 3900 for the game. Other comments indicated that there were only a few tickets left, but that attendance figure is far from a full house.

It's not that far off ... full house is a little less than 5,000.
