Amidst all of the record breakers at NDSU, there is one that has virtually gone unnoticed. Fargo's own Semehar Tesfaye is quietly creeping up on one of the oldest records for women's track and field. The 5000 meter record was set by Bison Hall of Famer Nancy Dietman in 1985 with a time of 16:36.77. As a freshman, Semehar became only the second one to break 17 minutes and has the best shot of even coming close to this phenomenal record by running 16:57 this weekend.

She will break the Bison record soon. I'll bet she is in the low 16's before she is through.
