I don't know if this was put anywhere else but in the Fargo paper today there was a story on Ryan Smith out of Wahpeton and it stated he has a offer from NDSU for football. Paper compared him to Dressler. A smaller kid with good speed. Also has a offer from the team to the north.

The young man has some very good speed. Good bloodlines Dad track all american at Northern State and mom is the daughter of Rollie Greeno. Rollie was a longtime Jamestown College football and track coach.

Can the kid play any other position?? I have no problem with getting depth but wow we have a ton of RB's especially after signing Sam Ojuri out of Illinois this year. I kinda wish they would use some schollys to get a QB or am I wrong?

Smith wouldn't even come in until the 2010 season, if he signs with the Bison. A redshirt season and his first year will be in 2011. He will need a couple of years to bulk up a little and then in the rotation in 2012. If he were to follow this type of plan, who knows what the RB depth will be by that time.

he could be moved to CB too...never can have to much depth or speed at that position

I think the forum article has his coach stating Ryan ran the 100 meters in 10.7 seconds. I remember something about him running a 10.9 this year with the track accidentally being 104 meters.

I like this line of thinking...is it possible to just have two RBs instead of one QB one RB?just have one of them hang out behind the other, try and scorch the trenches and if stuff gets nasty-looking, pitch it away? :D

I thought he was looking at a couple schools but nothing final. Maybe I'm wrong. We need him.
