According to Kolpack's article today, there is a new kicker that transfered from New Mexico State. It sounds like this kid has some potential. Here is what was on the NMS site.

2007 (Freshman): Jastram was the Aggies kick-off specialist in 2007. On the season, he recorded 59 kick-offs, averaging 47.9 yards a kick-off and one touchback. Against Boise State (10/7) Jastram tallied his best kick-off of the season, a 57-yard boot. Jastram started the season as the Aggies field goal kicker, making 5-of-5 on extra points against Southeastern Louisiana (8/30).

High School: Jastram earned all-state, all-conference and all-city accolades as a senior when he made 8-of-15 field goals and 59-of-63 PAT’s for his Roosevelt High School football team that won the state championship with a 12-1 record. He was an honorable mention all-state selection as a sophomore in 2004 and his team was the state runner-up. For his career, Jastram was 19-for-28 in field goal attempts, made 169-of-181 of his PAT attempts and had a 65-yard kickoff average. Jastram was a Presidential Scholar, A.P. Scholar and was on the National Honors Society with his 3.5 high school grade point average.

Personal: Jastram is the son of Carol and Terry Jastram. He plans on majoring in business at NMSU.

It looks like there was a kid one year younger that must have won the field goal kicking job. That may be why he went looking for a different school.

I'm glad to have him.

Hopefully he's better at FG than kickoffs. Bibeau averaged over 60 yards per kickoff the last two years, this kid was putting the ball on the 22 before the return. :hide:

I thought Bibeau did well at Kick off, so maybe he is going to be the PAT guy

I thought Bibeau did well at Kick off.........

I vaguely recall that Bibeau had a problem in one game where he was kicking it directly to the oppositions outstanding return guy rather then angling away and we got burned a few times.

I vaguely remember Bohl stating that it was the coaching staff that decided not to kick away from him......

Your signature picture is why you guys will always be considered small town. If people are wearing that shirt I would be ashamed to have a picture of it on our site. You should be ashamed. Bush league, which is what your football team is now that it has moved up to the MVFC.

The new kicker is not on scholarship. That is why he was not announced on signing day. He has been on campus for a while. Sounds like he has a good leg.

Also, Cedar Falls is bunk. The night before the game last year, nobody was out on the town, and if you talk to the people, they are either Iowa or Iowa State fans........But, I like the red, yellow and blue seats!!!

Aberdeen is a town, 2 years ago the Aberdeen Roncalli football team didn't allow a point the whole seasn, including the playoffs. Just a little tidbit for you. But I agree it is not a pretty town.

I love the shirt. I would buy one in a second. Told my wife about it...she asked if it was available for women, she'd buy one too. Especially with all the issues with the flood a little humor is needed.

Absolutely awesome shirt!!

I recently drove around Cedar Rapids, especially the area that got devastated by the flood last year. The area west of the river was highly residential and was completely destroyed. It was heart breaking to see so many lives and homes destroyed. Saying that, I've seen first hand what a flood can do. If someone from Fargo is a little proud and wants to wear a shirt like that, I'm all for it!!!! We should be proud! We saved our city. And TAB, you're dead on. If we can find a little humor in such a stressful time, let er buck!!

Really, it depends on what the definition of "bagged" is? I took it as more of a sexual in conotation, I don't see anything wrong with asking a player to "switch sides". Heck, there was a great Seinfeld on this topic, which clearly makes it okay.....

But, I am probably thinking about this way too much......

Actually, Aberdeen Roncalli did give up points in that season, but it wasn't until the state championship game against St. Thomas More. Roncalli beat STM 27-13 in that game.

P.S. The shirt in question shouldn't be considered offensive unless it is worn in the wrong place
- wearing shirt on a college campus = Awesome
- wearing shirt on your sister's wedding day = Mixed Reviews
- wearing shirt at your nephew's baptism = Poor Taste
