Just another chance for our boy to show what he can do!! These end of season things for a senior like Woody are just as important as the whole year was. He didn't have the opportunity to show his true talents all year because of inferior competition (not meant to knock the summit league). This is one of the biggest events for NBA scouts to watch future NBA ballers. If he can put up a solid 15 pts in a few games, with a couple dimes here and there, I think he can turn some heads. But he has to capture some of the scouts attention because he played at a mid major.

Watching the Final Four games tonight...there's no question in my mind Woodside is as good as the guards on any of the teams.

When you got Collins stating woodside was one of the toughest guards he had to defend all season and bill self saying how he could play for Kansas and put up good numbers....means a lot and shows what kind of player he is. Yes there are other factors then just height, shooting for 3's well woodside has range, coming off pick n rolls give him a Karl Malone and its Malone and Stockton right there. In the all-star game he drove the lane with his left shot with his left and made it, so people saying he can't go left there you have it. I am not saying he's a lock for the draft, but he could turn some heads in the games this weekend.

Best of luck to him great guy and has a ton of class!!!

Team rosters are out. Woodside will be on a team with Levance Fields from Pitt and Jon Brockman from Washington.

Talked to Ben at Walmart of all places on Sunday afternoon. He is excited for Portsmouth (leaves Wednesday) and said that this is his big opportunity to play in front of the very scouts to control his opportunity at the NBA. Possibly thought that Ben played Friday afternoon/evening and then took in the Final Four for the weekend??? Nope, played Friday and then back to Fargo to keep working out and preparing for the next game. You have got to love that determination! ;)

Woody's first game is at 6PM Central time I was told today. He is playing in the same backcourt as Fields from Pitt. NICE. Should be a great experience.

LAKES REPORTING LIVE !!!!!!!!!!

Box Scores from Day One

Sales System LTD 70, K&D Round's Landscaping 63

The one thing that really caught my eye from the boxscore was it was bad shooting all around, which would be expected from nerves. 14-26 and 4-9 from the free throw line with some of the shooters on the rosters tells me something wasn't right. Diamon Simpson's stat line of 15 points, 15 rebounds, 9 offensive rebounds, and 4 steals stood out as well. If a team comes to this event looking for 2nd rounders and undrafted players to compete for roster spots and fill roles, they have to love 9 offensive rebounds and 4 steals. My only caveat is I don't know how many of his offensive rebounds came off his own misses (6-14 from the field). Paul Delaney was Sales System LTD's leading scorer with 18.

Courtney Fells had 22 points on 8-13 shooting and 4-5 from behind the arc. The rest of his K&D Round's Landscaping squad shot 13-57 from the field for 23 percent.

Portsmouth Partnership 90, Tidewater Sealants 80

I guess shots started falling in the second game. AD Vassallo had 21. DeMarre Carroll had 18 points and 6 rebounds on 8-11 shooting. Akognon had 16 points and 6 assists. The Tidewater team had scoring balance. Garret Siler had 13-8. Wilkinson 11-9. Brandon Ewing and Alex Ruoff both had 13 points and 6 assists. My guy Aboya... 2 points and 4 rebounds. Oops.

Because he has a 47 3pt percentage in his career at Miami, he had to carry that team many times and didn't have that many weapons. :D

8 rebounds becuz this is like a glorified all star game.

no one fights for a rebound and there's a shot every 4.6 seconds.

lame!!

Players who were on the initial roster that have since been replaced include Sam Young, A.J. Price, Jeff Adrien, Jeff Pendergraph, Dominic James, Kevin Rogers, Curtis Jerrells, Robert Dozier, Levance Fields and Goran Suton. NBA scouts, executives and GMs we spoke to all had similar opinions on this matter.

“I’m disappointed in those guys,” one Western Conference Director of Player Personnel stated. “For most players this is their last chance to make an impact on their draft stock, and they decided to pass on it. Real players play, and now these guys are risking being lapped by other prospects who will emerge here.”

Some went even further. “These kids are crazy!” an assistant GM said. “For players on the bubble to not be seen is suicide for some. Who is giving these kids advice?”

Levance Fields was the one who drew the biggest groans. “He wouldn’t be drafted if the NBA went back to being eight rounds,” one scouted opined.

Found this:

-Ben Woodside again had a so-so performance, scoring 11 points but dishing out just 1 assist compared with 2 turnovers. He is showing that same excellent speed and change of pace ability that gave Kansas such fits in the NCAA tournament, but is really struggling with the size, length and athleticism of oncoming defenders once he turns the corner and needs to decide what’s next. He’s not really doing a great job reading defenses, and is showing questionable decision making skills with the ball in his hands. His jumper looks excellent on the other hand, both from standstill positions and off the dribble, but he’s really struggling on the defensive end, being overpowered by his matchup and having a very difficult time staying in front of anyone. This is not the kind of tournament he needed to have in order to prove that he’s an NBA caliber point guard, but he still has one more game to try and make up some ground.

NBA talent is unreal. Doesnt look like CP3 had an answer for Billups yesterday. Also, Rose torched Rondo for 36.
