“I’m nervous,” KU freshman guard Tyshawn Taylor said. “It’s my first NCAA Tournament. It’s the first one for all of (the freshmen). We’re going to be nervous. But it’s a basketball game, and we gotta go play it like we know we can.”

Freshman forward Marcus Morris didn’t seem overly concerned.

“It’s another experience for me,” Morris said. “I’m a little nervous, but oh well.”

That feeling is probably shared by about 99.9 percent of the players in the tournament. As exciting as it is...the one-and-out thing gives it a real 'edge.'

I expect the Bison are nervous also. Whomever handles the nerves better should get the early lead.

I expect the Bison are nervous also. Whomever handles the nerves better should get the early lead.

We saw a great example of this when KU played at Mizzou.

Both teams were nervous and the first 10 minutes or so looked like a couple of junior high teams. Mizzou kept it up to the end of hte first half and KU was able to extend to a 14 point lead at that point. Then the Tigers calmed down at halftime and started pressing more and climbed right back in it.
