I'm really overjoyed about this. I have a vested interest in two national tournaments this year. The Bison, of course, but also in the D2 Elite Eight being played next weekend in Massachusetts.
My nephew, Ross DeMasi starts for the Southwest Minnesota State University Mustangs and they made the finals last night be beating Augustana. Ross is a senior, is 6'8" and is one of the leading rebounders in the nation in D2.
SMSU coach is Greg Stemen, who is from LaMoure, ND and took over after we stole Tim Miles away from them.
Lastly, Ross is playing with a mask over his face due to him breaking his nose for the third time in practice last week. Looks odd when watching games (on computer), but it hasn't hurt his performance. Best of luck to SMSU also.
