That was possibly the greatest "MY OH MY" i've ever heard from Scott Miller!

++ Oh, and by the way, I realized (not that this was a new feeling but more of an affirmation) on the way home from Sioux Falls on Saturday :banghead: that we are very fortunate to have a play-by-play man the caliber of Scott Miller. He is fantastic. We spent most of the way back from SF listening to the gasbags on the station in Vermillion calling the SDSU-ORU game. Night and day difference.

If you heard Scotty call in on his way back to Fargo, he sounded like a completely different person. I think his voice dropped an octave from all the talking and shouting he did last night. I was like, "Who is this guy and why is he important enough to be on the air?" Then they played the radio call and asked him how he felt as it was happening. I'm sure part of it was his "radio voice" versus his "normal voice", but it was pretty scratchy as well. Maybe a late night of filing stories and drinking with Saul helped just a bit.

I hope we get to find out!

Honestly though, it's hard to imagine the pressure the team has been under all year with our four seniors having with only this one shot at the tourney. I think our announcer wasn't immune to that.

Rather random fact about Scotty (as told on WDAY-AM this morning):

Scotty memorizes the entire roster by number of the visiting football team, beginning the Sunday before each game.

I figured he'd use a roster sheet. Apparently he chooses not to.

Anyone ever notice how Scotty sounds exactly like Kermit the Frog when he gets excited?

I watch other teams boards once in awhile for both basketball and football and when they can hear our announcer that has been brought up more than once. He may sound like Kermit but he beats the heck out of most announcers. It was painful listening to some of the Summit feeds that Hammer found for the games last week but it made me happy we have who we do.
