Yeah, I could easily see 10k making the trip if the tournament opener was in Mpls.

Hopefully none of us have to go to Minneapolis though. If we get a 15 seed I'm not going to be a happy camper.

yeah i think the minneapolis region is 2 7-10 games and two 2-15 games if i am not mistaken.. would make sense as the second round games would be the 2-7 matchup.. wonder if anyone could dig up the sites for the 13 and 14 seed games

If bracketology is right it's:

South (Memphis): 13 Portland, 14 Philadelphia
West (Arizona): 13 Boise (Where Lunardi has us) 14 Portland
Midwest (Indianapolis): 13 Boise 14 Greensboro
East (Boston): 13 Miami 14 Miami

Not sure why two 13's would be in Boise, or why Miami would have a 13 & a 14 though. I wouldn't think that would work for 2nd round games.

boise could have two 4-13 matchups and two 5-12 matchups from two different regions similar to what i think minneapolis is.. miami and portland would have a 3-14 a 4-13 a 5-12 and a 6-11 matchup..

once again im just doing this in my head assuming the minneapolis tidbit is correct

ever since a few years ago pairings have not been top half of a region at one site bottom half at another..

You're probably right, it would work as long as the other games at those sites are setup right. Hopefully the selection committee heard Andy Katz on Mike & Mike this morning and sends us to Miami! I'm going whereever they send us, but Miami sounds like a little more fun than Boise or Portland.

You are correct. They changed to a pod system a couple years ago. A site for the first and second round games don't all feed the same regional. I believe the general philosophy is they identify the top 4 seeds in each region and then place them as close to home as possible. The rest of the teams fall in line behind that. I'm sure they have some guidelines like a 1 and 2 shouldn't go to the same first round location. Just because you see a bracketology bracket has certain seeds going to certain locations doesn't mean that site will be the location for those seeds.

Last week there were around 19,000 tickets remaining for Minneapolis, approx 11,000 sold.
