Crap, that completely snuck up on me.

Here's the Summit press release for day 1:

NDSU’s Francis Records a Provisional Qualifying Mark as NDSU Men and Women Lead After Day One (http://www.thesummitleague.org/ViewArticle.dbml?SPSID=21675&SPID=1759&DB_OEM_ID=3900&ATCLID=3680844)

NDSU’s Shawn Francis captured first in the men’s pole vault with an NCAA Provisional Qualifying mark of 5.20m (17-00.75). The senior from Hastings, Minn., set the pace as teammates Matt Bishoff (4.90m; 16-00.75) and Cody Gronvold (4.75m; 15-07.00) finished second and third respectively.

Sophomore Whitney Carlson led the Bison women as she shattered a Summit League Championship record in the women’s pentathlon with a score of 3,603 points. Her score is more than 470 points higher than the previous record set last year by Southern Utah’s Tiffany Lindstrom. The women should be fine and the men are sitting pretty well. We just have to hold our own in the sprints. I have to admit that I don't know a lot about what kind of points we will get in the middle distances. Just looking at results from the regular season, we look a bit down. Kevin needs to take care of business in the 60 and 200 to hold off the SUU surge and our lone 400 runner needs to place high. But it looks like we are whooping up on the field in the hept.

The word is that NDSU has already garnered hatred, resentment, and jealousy from ORU since they were the class of the league before the Mighty Bison entered the conference.

ORU is going to be jealous of us in track and bball. becuase there were "trophy chasers" for years in this league and now we are coming in to battle them and take it from them.

keep up the good work track teams, Kevin Jackson ran a 6.9 60 yard dash.. (hello new cornerback!!!)

Dude can flatout motor! If this guy has a little "wiggle" in him on the football field he could be a dangerous kick or punt returner.

Thanks for the updates!!

I was looking for anything about this last night, and nobody had any updates. :ranting: GoBison and the Summit League only had the previews up.

Bison Men and Women both win. SDSU second on the women's side, third on the men's side. Not sure who was second on men's side, but I would guess Oral Roberts***.

The Day 1 results were up on summitleague.org last night. Final results aren't posted anywhere yet. I was getting text updates from people at the meet.

***Southern Utah finishes second (not Oral Roberts) on the men's side. Stories are up on gobison.com, but no results up yet.
