Not sure that it's been mentioned but we hit the 250,000-post mark... hey, I'm only about 6,000 posts too late.

Something like:

6 years, 7 months, 21 days

or

79.75 months
346 weeks
2427 days

Give or take a week

I like it! Taking months to the hundredth and then "give or take a week".:)

When Tony created this topic, I checked a file I update once a month to see exactly when we tipped over 250,000(I was curious). As of Feb 1, we were at 249,843. I figure we must have tipped a couple days later. A long time ago, I found a website that calculates all that stuff I posted just by entering two dates(google "date calculator" - it's the first or second link that pops up depending on if you use quotes). It is literally taking me more time to type this reply than it took to find out those numbers.

And yes, I do have a job. ;)

Also:
2427 days can be converted to one of these units:
209,692,800 seconds
3,494,880 minutes
58,248 hours
346 weeks (rounded down)

still give or take a week ;)

My thought process:

21 days left over
21 days = 3 weeks
4 weeks in a month
3/4 = .75

Supremely accurate calculation there, huh?

The "give or take a week" came from the fact I don't know exactly when we hit 250,000(see previous post).

The only month with 4 weeks is February :) lol. I'm not really this anal. The .75 months gave me a funny reminder of all the lectures I got in high school about writing down as many decimal places as I could just because my calculator gave them to me. I appreciate your research!

Hmm. According to Hammersmith's fine work, our average posts-per-day for almost seven years has been 100/day. I remember months when we were lucky to get that many posts :)

Looks like we've been averaging 300 posts per day in February (which is usually pretty slow). Basketball FTW!

Here are the numbers I have. Until recently, I was pretty erratic as to when I would take a sample. I finally realized that checking sometime on the first of the month was easier to remember and better to make comparisons. I've got numbers from SiouxSports over the same span of time, and numbers from SDSUFans, CoyoteSports and BisonSports from the 8 Aug, 2008 sample onward.

Quick conclusions: Bisonville started surpassing SiouxSports in posts per year back in November, and the gap has been widening ever since. Surprisingly, SDSUFans was more active than SS in November and December. SS took the overall crown in January thanks to hockey season hitting high gear, but I suspect Bisonville will regain the February title thanks to MBB and transfer quarterback rumors. BisonSports sat at around 700 posts last month, and CoyoteSports turned in a paltry 130.

Month of January, 2009:
9137 - SiouxSports
7260 - Bisonville
4806 - SDSUFans
689 - BisonSports
129 - CoyoteSports
