Power Rankings ....

1.NDSU- The Bison handed IUPUI their worst home loss in over seven years on Saturday to pick up their sixith conference home win of the season. Michael Tveidt continues to emerge in his sophomore season going 11-17 from the field and 7-9 from behind the arc in his two games this weekend. Tveidt is shooting a sizzling 57.1% from the field on the season.

2. ORU- The Golden Eagles have been locked into an intense battle with NDSU for first place but unfortunately for Scott Sutton, his team was the first to blink. The Golden Eagles who had been stellar defensively in their previous Summit League games gave up 81 points to Oakland. ORU then went ice cold in their loss to IPFW, shooting just 33%.

3. Oakland- A week ago the Golden Grizzlies were on the verge of falling from third place but now they have solidified themselves once again as a top team in the league. Leading their resurgence this week was Keith Benson, who averaged 22.5 points and 8.5 rebounds. Benson is quickly becoming one of the league's premiere big men.

4. IUPUI- The Jaguars managed a crucial split at home, IUPUI grinded out a win against SDSU but fell victim to an NDSU team that put on a shooting crowd for sold out crowd in the Jungle.

5. SUU- The Thunderbirds won their lone game of the week against a struggling UMKC team. The T-birds will face a much bigger test this week with a pivotal game in Brookings that could go a long ways in deciding who is sitting home in March on Thursday. SUU will then face the league leading Bison on Saturday night.

6. IPFW- Last week it seemed like IPFW's Summit League tourney hopes were going to be extinct like their mascot the Mastodon. But Dane Fife's squad successfully defended their home court against Centenary and ORU to survive at least for another week.

7. Centenary- The Gents are in the midst of a three game slump, however they are still sitting in favorable position with six league wins and four of their final 6 games at home.

8. WIU- The necks continue to stay alive after sinking a half-court shot to stave off what would have been a crushing loss to SDSU.

9. SDSU- The Jacks ran their conference road losing streak to 15 games this week. With their final three games on the road, SDSU now faces two must win games against SUU and UMKC.

10. UMKC- Everything continues to go wrong from UMKC, at 2-10 in conference play it looks as if their Summit League tourney hopes are now officially sunk.
