Sorry to have fun with your obvious typo...but we have a new term for running backs now on bisonville.

He's a real 'stub.'

Don't we already have a stud running back from South?

I'm all for finding talent, but let's not forget about some ND kids that can play. I'm very excited to see what Josh can do.

Looks like Mike Sigers ran a 10.89 in the 100m and was second team all district. I found a game where he ran for 270 yards. He was 79% of the teams offense for that game. His team was expected to be very good but ended the year 6-4. That's all I found.

Michael Sigers took a handoff, broke a few tackles, made a few moves and ran 70 yards for a touchdown. If first impressions mean anything in high school football, the North Forest Bulldogs are in for a great season.

This page includes a 3 minute video segment which includes some interview clips with Sigers, and a few plays from what appears to be a scrimmage with another squad. I'm pretty sure that Sigers is the main RB for the team in black jerseys, but there are no numbers.

I did some more checking. Here are other random stats I could dig up.
-He made all district first team as a junior.
-A different site also had him as first team all district in 2007 so he must have been on the edge this past year.
-Was second team all district as a soph. and led the team in rushing that year.
-Long jumped 22'6" in 2006
-He ran for 1097 yards and 8 touchdowns in the first 9 games. The second back ran for 822. They were primarily a running team the way it sounds.
-5'9" 170 lbs 4.5 speed

Seems like a small guy with good speed who can still run inside the tackles. I think he could be good. Kind of a Pete Blincoe. (I know some of you guys don't think much of Pete, but I think he's done well. Remember, he was playing as a true freshman. We'll see how he does this year. I expect him to show us something.)

SDSU in the past has had small RB's that create absolute havoc on defenses with their elusiveness and difficulty in tackling. I envision this being the same case. It would be a different look then the "normal" RB that NDSU has historically used. I like the idea...

This isn't the first small RB the Bison have recruited. Blincoe has already been mentioned, he came in as a 5'7" 179 lb Fr. Horner came in as a 5'8" 185 lb Fr. This kid isn't much different from those players.

Darren Sproles is rather small and he was a very good college player and pretty good on Sundays. Not saying this kid is Darren Sproles but those little guys can be slippery and hard to find among the trees.

I think you might have SDSU confused for some other team. SIU had a small running back this year that was hard to find because of how small he was and even harder to catch, but SDSU doesn't typically use smaller running backs. Typically all our running backs are 5'9 200 lb, or bigger.

Ummmm......

Josh Ranek? Couldn't have been more than 5'7" on stilts. Possibly bigger than 200 lbs with pads on and a gallon jug of milk in his hand. Was a pretty good player too. Didn't he go on to the CFL?

Well, that's all the SDSU trivia I care to recall.

Good point, Ranek was 5'8, 205 lbs but was such a power runner that I don't really consider him a 165 lbs scat back.

Why are we wrecking our RB thread with talk of SDSU, the doormat of the NCC.
