Could Bohl be a candidate there? Back to the Big 12? Bob Babich left for the NFL after a 2-8 season. Leaving after a 6-5 season would not be so surprising.

I dare someone to tell me this makes sense. Anyone? didn't think so. That being said, Turner Gill was a shoe-in for the Syracuse job and didn't get it, so he should get the Auburn job right? No, they would rather hire a coach that hasn't done anything (1-15 in the Big 12 in 2 seasons)... ridiculous.. If Iowa State has a similar dropoff I would be too good of a choice!

As for firing Tubberville, it wasn't that he was a bad coach, it was just time for a change. As for Chizik, not sure if you know anything about him, but he is well respected and was Auburn's d coordinator during their undefeated season. I believe he also had success at Texas. I wouldn't put much stock into the Iowa State record....after all, it's Iowa State and he didn't inherit much. I can understand that on the surface it sounds funny, but I actually think he'll be very successfull at Auburn where he'll automatically have talent.

Bisonville goes nuts about little things....I can't imagine all the message boards down there...."We just got the worst coach in the Big 12?" Classic.

In all honesty, he is a very good D coordinator. Between his three years at Auburn and USC, he had a 29 game winning streak. Pretty amazing. Fact of the matter is.....He did not prove himself in his time in Ames. I think Turner Gill would be fantastic. There aren't many better individuals out there. What he did at Buffalo was amazing. He is a class act. I think Bohl will get some talk, but I don't think this is his time. Which is great, I want him to keep bringing in recruiting classes.

Look at his record without the ISU job where he inheirited a terrible team and hadnt had time to really turn it around
Look at what he accomplished at Auburn and the other teams he coached. Pretty impressive.
