IMO, Saul should approach this game like Exhibition #3. If #10/#31/#22/#40 get more than 20-25 minutes each, it's too many. Carlson, Tveidt, Coleman, Vaughan, and Riley should get the bulk of the minutes, not not the forementioned 4. It's a marathon, not a sprint.

I remember a few years back when mayville was good and Smith was coaching he was pretty funny with the fans behind the bench. They had a huge put back dunk on us and their little section of fans was going nuts.

Even Smith laughed when we started up a "you're from mayville" chant at their crowd

I know the competition wasn't great tonight, but that was one impressive performance. Michael Tveidt can flat out D you up. That is fun to watch. He is LONG. A perfect compliment to the other starters. This team is fun to follow. Good win. Great confidence builder for the season.

After watching tonight.

Strengths:
3 point shooting- I was glad to see Mayville give us a different look with their zone, no question we can score and play with just about anybody man for man, but will we be able to hit those outside shots when someone goes zone on us? Good to see them knocking down those shots from outside.

Offense overall: We do a great job of putting up points and getting to the rim. I don't care that it was Mayville, but 128 points says a lot. Scoring was very balanced tonight and we need some others to step up and help the Big Three.

Concerns:
Free Throws- We need to make our free throws, this will be huge especially when we're on the road. Free throws could be the difference between winning the conference or going home early.

Wow, that was a crazy game. We were lights out to start on both offense and defense.

Among all the lower division games I have watched in the DI era, tonight was the best performance I have ever seen from the bench. They maintained the lead and only had 1 turnover the entire 2nd half.

Well when I got my FB ticket on monday I saw woody shoot 3's a FTs watched him for a bit, I think they needed a new net after he was done, because it got a lot of use and prob ended up in flames when he was done with it :D..........He looked very good and looks like it carried over to tonights game, keep up the good work woody!!!!

What a fun game to watch! The starters looked great (of course) and almost everyone off the bench looked sharp. Flowers put in some nice minutes.

Moorman only scored 2 points. I would think in a game like this they would try and get the ball to Moorman more.

Moorman got the first 2 points of the game, IIRC, and hardly saw the ball again if at all. I agree with tcbison on this one for sure.


Did anyone else think that #1 for Mayville seemed like he was about 5'5"? He looked like a freshman in high school but put in quite a few minutes.

SDSU and UND are both starting their transition in men's basketball. Yes both lost to the same school. We played great, competition wasn't great, but that was a smooth operation out there. Fun to watch.
