Anyone know what happened to Leah Johnson from Lakeville? The Star Trib listed her as headed to NDSU not to mention her sister Mattie plays here.

she might be a walk on and cant be included in the release; or she sees the writing on the wall that she will not play over J Lo; Mattie was setter of the year last year and now is the back end of a 6-2...not promising for Mattie or any other setter in future years to be on the floor alot

Yeah, theoretically... she'd redshirt 1 yr and then be playing as #2 for two years, then theoretiacally #1 for 2... That's if everyone is healthy, etc. IMO, tough part for mattie has to be that the offense flows the best when she's setting (due to placement accuracy), but not as much the d :-/.

From today's article, she'll be here :)

"Next fall, four freshmen will join the Bison: two-time all state hitter Brynn Joki of Grand Rapids, Minn.; two-time all state hitter Megan Lambertson of Litchfield, Minn.; two-time all state defensive specialist Andrea Henning of Jackson, Wis. and setter Leah Johnson of Lakeville, Minn. She is Mattie Johnson’s sister. "

I've seen Joki play. She's an excellent all around player much in the same mold as JLo. Tall, fluid, athletic, sets out of the back row and can play any one of the 3 front row positions.

With the depth the team has returning, and these girls coming in, I think the team is going to be ridiculously good this year. Any one player not pulling their weight is going to be challenged by one of the youngsters and it's going to force everyone to have to play at a high level day in and out.

I read that today and hope that it is true that Leah Johnson will be a Bison.

Thanks for the update. I wonder what the schedule will be like. It sure would be fun to play Minnesota again.

The Bison should be improved next year but Minnesota will be Top 5 nationally. MN usually host a couple early season tournaments so the Bison may be able to sneak into one of those.

I do not think NDSU has to SNEAK into any tourney. I think the program has proven itself to be respected and get invited to some of these tourneys. Maybe even have the option to pick and choose.
