"In other election returns, North Dakota Agricultural College in Fargo was turned down in its bid to operate under the name of North Dakota State University of Agriculture and Applied Science. The Herald had opposed the name change, and Grand Forks County led the state in rejecting the proposal."

Thankfully the voters in the state saw the light and approved the name change 2 years later in 1960.
