Measure #1: 80% of the oil tax goes into a lockbox; remaining 20% can oly be accessed if 75% of both houses agree

Measure #2: Big cut in state income tax; badly written; a couple groups wouldn't get taxed at all because of a miswording of the ballot measure.


Both are something of a response to the $1B state surplus this year. NDSU and the other universities are counting on a big cut of that pie. These two measures would reduce that cut to nothing or even less.

I'm drunk at the moment, so I may have gotten the numbers backwards.

Don't know alot since I'm a MN voter, but this is what I heard/remember:
ND ballot measures 1 and 2 if approved would cut significant funds for all education across the state amoung other things. Talking several million dollars here. NDSU for example would lose like 18M I think it was. Extension service another 16M? Schools like Mayville 3M, Jamestown 6M... One of the bigger problems with this is that it stunts growth. It's hard to build additional housing needed for students for example with 18M less per year.

Again not sure of exacts, but that's the effect.

In order to make the Rose Bowl, we'd either need Ohio State to beat PSU and have us all end up tied for the conference win. If that happened, then the team that hasn't been to a BCS bowl in the longest time period would get to go (Obviously us). Either that or we need 2 OSU loses (1 of them being PSU), and then PSU win out to go to the NC.

Regardless, I'm very very happy with our season no matter what happens, anything from here on out is gravy. Our defense came out of nowhere, hopefully Ted Roof stays!!

Best of luck to the Bison as this game sounds like a blowout. Hopefully we can play again soon in the mighty TCF Bank Stadium.

I got a tour 2 weeks ago myself...that's what happens when the construction companies leave the stadium accessible around midnight, fans like myself wander around the entire facility.

I agree it's going to be amazing, I'm stoked. We are planning a 1 week + campout for the opener :D

As for the Gopher hockey jersey guy...me too! I had the maroon away jersey on, but switched to the 93-94 Throwback. Last night was respectable for Gopher Hockey and I expect a win tonight (Don't want to hijack this thread though, keep it on Bison football, even though it sounds like a domination)
