Maybe in no order. This may be random.
10. no police in the tailgate, and absolutely no problems. Seriously, it went perfect.
9. The Ice Bar. Those outfits were special.
8. Preston Evans. Wow. It takes a true freshman to show our defense how to lay the wood to someone. Great job kid. It was funny to see the other linebackers tell him where to lineup. Kid has instincts....See #3 below...similar?
7. When I was down and out in the 4th quarter, I find out UND is playing a D2 team for homecoming. Thanks to our administration for aligning this transition correctly. Prez Chapman in the front row. NICE.
6. UNI actually knowing how to use their jumbotron effectively. Replays that are quick, showing fans, quick advertising, and actually showing D1 game scores on a regular basis. Nice touch. our facility is significantly better, but they have better usage of promotions.
5. Watching the defense lay in on the line in the 2nd half.....and get a standing ovation from a very smart fan base. Great 2nd half shutout.
4. Thinking to myself...NO! BisonNeil is actually happy our quarterback situation is in shambles. (Sidenote, I wanted Nick to be benched in the mid to late 3rd so we didn't wreck the confidence of the kid. Great kid, but not getting it done. I was thinking the team may rally around a change. Plenty of blame can be shared, but Nick is lost out there and the team needs a change).
3. Joe Mays at the tailgate. Seriously, the man could be anywhere...or even at home. He is 5 weeks into a new baby, a very new and demanding career, and he is leading the cheers in the parking lot. We have heard alot about what a great person he is, but he inspired "Bison Nation" today and is a great example to our current players. Thanks for coming out #8/#51. Keep it up. You are a great role model to the kids that follow you.
2. The tailgate. PERIOD. It was off the charts. All ages. Everyone having a blast. Safe to say the beer was flowing in the lot. Nobody does it like NDSU. UNI fans were coming in 3 hours early and going....what in the heck just took over our lot.
1. I am pissed we lost, but not pissed about going. NOBODY travels like Bison Fans. That was LOUD. Before the game, when they were going to shake hands with UNI...it was crazy. "Lets go Bison..." LOUD. I wouldn't trade it for anything....a win would have been nice. To anyone that was there, thanks for going, what a great trip. Iowa State is going to be NUTS. We stayed late in the lot and MANY UNI fans came over and said they have never seen or heard anything like what NDSU brought to their dome. Their fans left in the 2nd half, and we stayed until the finish. Loved the passion of the fans...made the trip.

10. No pissers in the tailgate either, after 10 beers not good(and just getting warmed up BTW)
9. I have no idea what the ice bar is but the casino in Waterloo was really nice, that was nice because the rest of the town was a dump. Ok maybe not but I didnt see anything new in the town besides the Casino maybe a cuple hotels. Went to there Scheels store, which was wrose than the old store in Fargo. Cedar Falls is a really hard town to get around, not good signage, but that Iowa for you.
8.+++++
7.yeah UND sucks we know that
6.how about UNI putting the jumbotron in a place you can see it. Replays just as good as in the FFD. FFD needs to crank the music like they do in the UNI dome. Cat nosie was annoying though. FFD bring back the Diesel horn.
5. Yay we had a pass rush in the second half, good job D-line.
4. Something needs to be done Nick would throw it into double or triple coverage, WTF?
3. Woot! Joe Mays!
2. Haha we just took over there lot nice!
1. ++++++++++++ The fans that came were AWESOME if we could only take that 1,000 or so and x19 on a saturday in the FFD.

I love the amazed looks on the UNI tailgaters...said that they had never seen a team travel like ours, usually only 100 opposing team fans at most.

So, We Dominated UNI...at tailgating. Its a start I guess.

GO BISON!!

How about when our kicker got us going nuts in the 4th quarter. Really? Our kicker? Well, he got us going and he did a nice job in the game, so props to you BEBO!!! Ha. After calling for him to be benched last week, he came back and was lead cheerleader when we needed it most.

No particular order, just random thoughts.

1. 13,000+ people in the UNIdome sounds 10X louder than 19k in FargoDome.
2. UNIdome & its lighting is tremendous compared to our dark mausoleum.
3. UNI fans were wonderful.
4. Talking to DJ before the game. It was his first road game since having his leg removed. Wow, what a Bison fan he is!! Glad to see you back, DJ
5. Informing Gene Taylor of my wife's dislike for him, due to the fact that there are no trips to California this year. Gene took it quite well, and I don't think he is going to lose any sleep over it.
6. Seeing UNI's basketball venue, McLeod Center, was amazing. Note to NDSU brass: Save money on architect fees--> Steal their blue prints and build it.
7. UNI lets their students and band sit right on top of the action. Wow, what a concept. Allow a college football game to have a college football atmosphere. We (NDSU) are way too concerned with the almighty dollar to change our current philosophy.
8. Bison fans travel amazingly well. Road games are by far more enjoyable to attend than home games. The atmosphere was electric.
9. Joe Mays is a class act. I wish him all the luck in the world to continue his success.
10. How about we take the ball just once to start the game? Waiting until the 2nd half hasn't been working. If it ain't broke, don't fix it, right? Well, it's broke, so let's try to do something different to fix it.

I could put some more down, but I still need to catch up on all the threads before going to bed.

4. Thinking to myself...NO! BisonNeil is actually happy our quarterback situation is in shambles.

No he's not. I find no pleasure in having been able to predict this situation, because I didn't.

As a point of clarification, I always thought Nick had the talent and I thought he would be fine. Although I had to clarify that many times with iditots like Lakes, I never questioned Mertens as the QB. My complaints about the QB situation was simply that there wasn't anybody behind him pushing him to get better and/or replace him if he got hurt. This was solely because the coaching staff went two seasons without a QB recruit. My concerns were very plain and simple. I also was vocal about the coaching staff not playing him so he could get some game experience when Walker and company had a blow out going. I think those concerns were valid when I stated them and I kept making the point despite morons such as yourself and Lakes chewing my ass.

So, you can stop giving me hell just because you are blind and oblivious to the obvious.

Great list Burgundy.

As an extremely biased father, I'd like to add one:

My five-old-fighting through sickness to be at the game. Threw-up in the parking lot before the game, in the UNI-Dome, and twice in the car on the way home. I told him we could leave, he said "NO WAY!", as puke was streaming down his cheeks. We were only in our seats for about the first 5 minutes of the game, stood the rest of it in the corner (to be near the garbage cans).

Bison got smoked, kid got sick, and we still had a blast.

My top 10 are the 10 UNI fans that thought they were going to watch the game sitting in their seats, but didnt realize that lakesbison bought the seats in the first row in front of them. The look on their faces before the kickoff when lakes informed them that he was going to stand the entire game was priceless!

In the small amount of time I was in my seat, I got to witness that develop. I was looking forward to watching the "Lakes Show" the rest of the game, but I had to go stand in a more puke friendly location.

Haha yeah the fans sitting next to us were for sure shocked and pissed about it. They moved to the next row behide us. But before doing so had to tell us that "we were in the wrong spot and didnt know what we were doing." There fans are Freakin A-Holes.

This kid needs some press. This is what Bison Pride is all about. How about some halftime acknowledgement at the next home game, or maybe have HIM in the locker room before the next game. I love this post.

Was it really that much louder? SDSU coach said Fargodome was louder.

When the SDSU coach is at the Fargodome its a rivaly game and people are louder, than when SDSU is at the UNI Dome and its just another game, and UNI isn't that loud for every game. Our 1,000 fans really got their fans into the game and they were really loud.

In Section R, yes, it was. Perhaps, down on the field, noise levels are different, but my ears were ringing on Saturday, and I've never had that sensation in FargoDome before.

I absolutely thought it was louder at UNI than in the FargoDome. But like others have said, the loud-ass Bison faithful really fired up the UNI crowd. I was impressed by the UNI fans not letting us take over the UNIDome.

The Bison fans were very loud and "into it" especially early, but then got nothing to keep that intensity level up high the rest of the game. And as loud as we were, there's no way we had more than about 1500 people there. I was at the edge of the Bison fans/UNI fans and we were at the 20 yard line. Almost everyone to my left was UNI, so thats only about 1/5 of that side of the field, and the student side was almost entirely UNI so we had roughly 1/10 of the crowd, maybe a little more. A crowd of 14,000 would put 1400 Bison fans in the stands.
