I think we should mic the student section, mostly the sideline. Other schools do this why dont we? Granted we are a loud stadium sometimes, the student section seems to be a bit more "into" the game than the other 78% of the stadium.

What other stadiums do that? And its stupid idea, IMO.

Isn't it illegal to 1) add artificial noise to pump up the crowd right before and/or during a play (which I've never understood why SDSU could play the "We need more cowbell" clip) or 2) Boost any sound that is made in the stadium.

I may be wrong but I thought I read this at one time.

Speaking of mic's, the band should not be mic'd. If you sit towards the north end of the FFD the delay is horrible. Its like listening to to bands out of sink playing the same song. Has anybody else noticed this?

I sit beside the band (unfortunately), but I could see that as being an issue.

Can you imagine how many f-bombs will be coming over the load speaker if the student section was "mic'd".

Yes the delay is annoying.

This thread is disapointing. I misread it has Micks in the FFD and was hoping it was going to be about a monumental break thru which would allow Mick's Office to open up a location inside of the Fargodome. Needless to say, I was dissapointed. :(

You 22%-ers (certainly an exagerrated number) ain't got nothin' on us, the "78%". Exactly who are the ones left to cheer at the end when it really counts? Hmmm?

He has a right to his opinion...not everybody has to love the band.

I sit opposite the band and the delay is horrible. As far as artificial noise, aka student section...I believe it would be illegal.
