NDSU moved from 17th to 11th in this weeks SportsNetwork poll and this Saturday's opponent Western Illinois moved up to number 17 after being 21st last week. So, a head knocker in the dome this week between two top 20 teams.

AGS and Coaches polls should be out later today.

My, oh my!

Three consecutive top 20 games for NDSU, only to finish out the schedule with a top 25 ranked rival!

Don't have the link to the coaches poll, but saw that NDSU stayed put at #6.

hey bisonguy was nice to meet you this past weekend...

Also, SDSU could possibly higher at the end of the year and could possibly be a game to win the conference yet again....but lets bring on WIU this weekend and take care of business.

I know that Gabe and others firmly believe that the MVFC is the toughest conference in FCS, but one has to think that CAA is at least as tough if not tougher. This from the Coaches Poll write up:

The CAA continues to lead the way with six teams ranked in the top 25, including three in the top 10. The Missouri Valley Football Conference and the Southern Conference each have five teams in the top 25.

hopefully we can get by WIU and get back into the top 10 in the AGS poll and move up a spot or 2 in the coaches!

That is likely going to happen only after the CAA teams in the top 10 and the So Con teams in the top 25 start beating each other up and we can survive WIU and UNI.

Seems like SDSU is getting the hose, granted they don't have the history of 10-1 seasons but two of the three loses were to higher rank FCS teams. I would have projected them in the middle teens.

SDSU has a very difficult remaining schedule.

Cal Poly at home next weekend.

@SIU
@NDSU

Those 3 are no easy contests especially considering two of them are on the road. At 3-3 SDSU can only afford one more loss just like the Bison if they are to be a playoff team. (SDSU has 12 games)

East coast bias?

why not, who cares. Bison need to take care of business, get in the playoffs and peak at the end of the season.

The second half of their season should tell if they are good! James Madison, UMASS, Hofstra, and Delaware left to play along with a couple they should win

i could care less what we are ranked cuz honestly we are not playing like a high ranked team, all i care about is that we make playoffs and prove that we are #1

The Jacks could lose to Cal Poly, but still win the conference and get the autobid. Last year the Jacks had 4 losses but won the Great West Conference.

coaches poll is what matters right.. in regards to playoff selections..

AGS is just posters voting.. correct/? who even cares about that??? it's like a bisonvlle poll.

The AGS poll has a track record of being the most accurate poll, it is also part of the GPI formula.

That said, getting 7 DI wins is probably the most rigid criteria used by the playoff committee. After that it seems that they use a number of criteria.

I think it's striking that SDSU can't climb the polls. Geez...they took McNeese to the brink last weekend.

I agree totally.

I think that a lack of consistency pretty much defines SDSU's experience over the past few years. One weekend they're giant killers, and the next they drop one to a team that shouldn't be on the same field with them.

Of course, that's pretty much how I see the Youngstown game that we lost. That shouldn't have been a contest.

Consistency seems to be lacking throughout college football for that matter.

I believe they're using a modified GPI that does not include the AGS poll for the playoff selection.
