I have a very slim hope that this game on Saturday will crest the 20,000 mark with people jammed in the corners standing room and watching. if anyone knows where to call the fire marshal, PLEASE ask him to let 20,000 paid attendance in the game!!!

I'm out!!

agreed...that would be bad ass

19,287 seats all filled with asses means that 713 more people are needed to get to 20,000, which is 178-179 people in each corner. Maybe they could set up little tiny little league bleachers on either side of the supporting beams in the corners. Two on each corner makes 8 sets of bleachers, meaning each set of bleachers would have to seat 90 people. A set of bleachers of 9 per row (17.5 feet long at 1.5 people per foot plus 4 feet for a stairway) at 10 rows up could maybe fit in there.

Or maybe just 179 people crammed in each corner....

I'm just so excited for this game!!!

I'm surprised that they are only releasing 200 sro tickets for students only...I love that students get those, but I thought they would release around 500 or so...Who knows

You do realize... if you increase the record attendance you also increase the number required for a sellout.

That being said... THE MORE THE BETTER!

I don't know how many we can squeeze in the dome.
Record is 19,053 vs SDSU
Sellout is 18,790 + 200 standing room student tickets = 18,990 + other standing room tickets. I'm not sure if the sellout of 18,790 means every GA seat is full. ANyone know?

I believe a "sellout" is a % of the record crowd.

I believe a sellout constitutes selling all of the available tickets for the event. It does not require everyone that purchased tickets to showup.

I think it's quality over quantity. Hey 200 students will make ten times the noise than 2,000 of the schmucks sitting throughout the dome. That's 50 per corner. Too bad they can't remove people for being lame and not cheering.

I agree...I am glad the tickets went to the students and I also agree that there are way too many lame fans out there...my family has been season ticket holders since 1984. I cut my teeth at Bison games at Dacotah, dodging schnapps and whiskey bottles, standing nearly the whole game. I was just hoping there were couple hundred more tickets so people like myself, who are from out of town(Minneapolis) and had last minute plan changes(ditching my cousin's wedding) could get into that dome on Saturday.

you are kidding yourself if you think those 200 students will be standing in the corners, they will be jammed in with the rest of the student sections. A row with 10 seats can fit 15 standing students. So they might as well sell another 200 to the public (if they can) because there will be room for them

I just better not see any blue seats late into the 2nd qrtr, that really bugs me looking accross to the east side and seeing a scattering of blue over there...

I'll give a pass for the first 5-8 mins of the 1st though ;)

Hard to tell if the blue in the center sections of the east side is from the seat or the motionless blue hair sitting in it. Unbelievable how little activity there is on 3rd downs over there. I have looked across many times to the NE sideline and not seen one person standing or clapping. Talk about a dead zone.

Sounds like a prime location / idea for a cell phone commercial. SD, you could make a few bucks by sending this notion to the folks at V.

Scene opens up with excitement all over the stadium except in the dead zone. Lakes, Slick, and yourself (per the Wyoming road trip) ramble through the zone making calls on your V phones demanding the crowd get pumped up. Then, the whole zone explodes causing qb miscommunication resulting in a pick for a TD. Have at it!

So why does every publication written state capacity is something like 18,790 instead of 19,287?
As for some concern about 20K being too much for the firecode that is bogus. Just counting people who sit in the current stands (not floor seating for concerts), the biggest pinch point for an exodus would be the exit ramp areas, not the dozens upon dozens of doors around the dome perimeter. So what is the problem with adding more standing or seating room in the corners? What the heck is going to burn in the dome anyway.......its 98% concrete, brick and steel. Does anyone know......has the fire marshall really limited capaciy for football games to 19,287?
When concerts are played do they have 8 different fire marshall capacities based on each seating configuration?

I believe that Roadwarrior posted this several hundred times already, but the capacity was lowered when the new suites were added.

I do not know what they limit it to, but seems that they only offer xx amount of standing room only tickets after they are sold out.

Touche'...I just wish the rest of the fab four would be here with him to support their ol' ball coach...Sweeney, Roebuck and Thomas.

Anybody remember the last UND-NDSU women's game at the BSA in 2004? The student section kept yelling "Shave the 'stache" to ol' Gene and he turned around said, "Shut the Fu*k up." Classic.

Toyota Park just outside of Chicago was built for the Chicago Fire soccer team. It seats 20,000. I've always thought that the configuration (with a few tweaks) would be an ideal style of stadium for a 1aa football school.
