That sucks. When he was on and 100% he was one of the most exciting players in the country to watch. Too bad it's been a while since he's been at 100% Best of luck Shamen, hope to see you in a Bison uniform again soon.

Coach Bohl also mentioned that probablity of a red shirt season would be VERY iffy being it would be Shamen's sixth year. If that is correct, heck of a way to have a career end.

That is to bad, He just never looked the same this year. Last game he kept rubbing his knee and flexing it while standing in the endzone waiting for the return. I wish him luck and its to bad that he could not get to 100%.

Sorry to hear about this. Good luck getting a pass for this season. I hope his situation improves well enough to consider playing again someday.

That really sucks! There has been no other player that electrified the crowd in the Fargodome the instant he touched the ball like Shamen did!

Damn, Damn, Damn, this truly sucks the big one. He was really fun to watch. He's got to be feeling really down missing his senior year and ending his career. He will be missed.

Now the question is, who replaces him? DJ? DJ has the speed and can dance really well.

I think we need one good SHAMEN cheer during the game.

I agree. A little thank you for the hard work and the effort and for making me hold my breath everytime he fielded a kick...

Well that stinks we lose arguably the best punt returner in NDSU history..... I do however think that our kickoff return game might lose 1 TD but overall field position will be improved. All kickoff return is is run hard and hit the hole no need to dance... that means i vote for Voit to be back there with Williams

Meh - a couple return yards here... 20 or 30 yards there... a big break for a major league run to the end zone... It makes a big difference if you ask me. So long as there's a clean catch (no fumbling, please :hide:), Shamen's made a big difference in the arena of field position.http://i241.photobucket.com/albums/ff311/indio_rojas/Smilies/SmiliesThumbsupa.gif

Man, that's tough. I feel awful for Shamen. Great, tough player.

Anybody else notice this in the paper?

"Washington missed the entire 2006 season with a similar injury. In his place, Travis White was effective on punt returns and Dennis Majeski blossomed into one of the best kickoff returners in the Great West Football Conference."

If this guy Dennis was so good, how come I never heard of him? I assume he meant John. I can tolerate mistakes in opponents newspapers but this is the home town paper screwing it up. I know it's a minor mistake but it's a reflection of their overall coverage toward NDSU.

I will miss seeing Shamen on the field the rest of the season. But hope that he makes a full recovery. Once a Bison always a Bison.

Dennis Majeskie played basketball for the Bison. From 82 to 86

And apparently he got 4 more years of eligibility and was a standout kick returner for the Bison in 06/07.

Shamen is hoping for another year. I hope he gets it but from what I have seen it is very hard to do.

It would be great to see him have another year. When he is at 100% he is stunning to watch.
