The soccer team travels to Austin Peay this friday and to Murray State on sunday for the first games of the season.

Well, I sure hope the Govs can pull out the victory against ya'll but please do me a favor and kick the crap out of Mu**ay State for us :D

In case some of you don't know, Austin Peay and Mu**ay State are very hated rivals (especially in basketball) and it is one of the best rivalries in the nation IMO.

Welcome to the board. I hope that the Bison do beat for Murry State for you, but sorry, can't agree to having them lose to you. :)

North Dakota State held on for a 2-1 victory over Austin Peay on Friday evening in Clarksville, Tenn., to begin its season.

In the eighth minute, Nicole Rand scored the first goal to put the Bison on top early, 1-0. Just before halftime, Emily Brostrom found the back of the net with just 10 seconds remaining in the first period. APSU would score a goal in the second half for a 2-1 NDSU victory.

The Bison stand at 1-0 to begin the season.

A great weekend of soccer by the young Bison. The active roster is composed of 2 seniors, 2 juniors, 4 sophs and 10 true freshmen. That means at a minimum there are 3 true freshmen on the pitch and quite often more. There was only about a 20 minute stretch to start the second half of the AP game where the Bison looked "young". Other than that they played solid against Austin Peay and even better against a much better and more physical Murray State team.
The schedule just keeps getting tougher with Creighton and the Gophers this weekend but we got 2 big wins on the road.
As an aside the game at Austin Peay was a great atmosphere. A hot humid August night, a good crowd and some kind of huge bugs buzzing in the trees. The AP football team was there so they have already witnessed one beating by the Bison!
