The five-year transition to Division I athletics at North Dakota State University was a textbook example of how to do it right. All along the way, the university avoided pitfalls that have been fatal for other universities attempting to make the step up.

What's not to like, it's all true. The bar has been set very high for various other educational institutions in the State of ND.;)

There are other institutions moving up? Well, Mayville State is pretty good in basketball (at least at the NAIA level). I'm not surprised that they're moving up.
